The Basketball Player of the Week has been a staple of Shore Sports Network's coverage over the years and we have always left it up to the fans to decide the winner -- and still do.  Now, SSN is recognizing its own choices for Player of the Week, not just in the Shore Conference, but in Monmouth and Ocean Counties individually.

You can still pick the Player of the Week in the Thrive Fan Vote and in the meantime, check out SSN's picks for Week 1 (Dec. 14 through Dec. 23). The Week 2 picks will be posted early next week and we will pick up with the regular schedule at the beginning of Week 3 next week.

The Neptune guard got off to a fast start this season on both sides of the floor. Ramos’s play helped Neptune go 3-2 before the holiday break and 8-3 overall. She averaged 19 points per game to start the season with her high of 27 points coming opening night against Toms River North.

Ramos, who is a fast guard, has also made an impact on the glass, averaging 10.6 rebounds a game. Her career-high came against Paterson-Eastside where she grabbed 16 rebounds.

Her best performance may have come against Central Regional where she had a triple-double in the victory. Ramos scored 22 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and had 10 steals, another career-high.

Unranked Neptune gave No. 9 Holmdel a hard fought game right before the holiday break, losing 50-46. Ramos scored a team-high 18 points and grabbed a team-high 8 rebounds in the game.

Each Shore Conference Player of the Week will receive one recovery session at Thrive Spine and Sports Rehab.
