Each week, Shore Sports Network will select its Players and Pitchers of the Week in Monmouth and Ocean County, as well as an overall Shore Conference Player of the Week. We are also giving you an opportunity to choose your Player and Pitcher of the Week in the Shore Conference.

Below is the Player and Pitcher of the Week for Week 3 (April 15 through 21) in each of the six Shore Conference divisions, plus two wild cards for each. Vote for the player and pitcher you think are most deserving and keep voting and check back on Thursday for the winner. Vote once per hour until the polls close at 10 p.m. on Wednesday.

Danny Tsimbinos, CBA

During a week in which he went 4-for-12 at the plate with eight RBI, all of Tsimbinos’s hits went for extra bases, including two home runs and a double that he rifled off the top of the fence at CBA.

Monmouth went 3-0 last week and Milevoi contributed on both the mound and at the plate to help lead the way. He went 2-for-4 with a double, homer and three RBI in an 8-3 win over Rumson-Fair Haven, then pitched the first 5 2/3 innings of his team’s 7-3, 11-inning win over Raritan.

The Raiders catcher went off this week, going 6-for-11 at the plate (.545) with a triple, home run and 10 RBI, including a homer and five RBI in an 11-1 win over Bayonne Sunday at the Autism Awareness benefit in North Brunswick.

In the last three games of last week, McCormack was 6-for-10 with four doubles, a triple and six RBI, helping St. John Vianney sweep Red Bank in a Class B North divisional series by going 4-for-7 with four RBI in those two games. He also went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI against Middletown South in a 3-2 Monmouth County Tournament loss.

The Purple Roses senior raked to the tune of .625 (5-for-8) with two doubles and four RBI as St. Rose put together another undefeated week. The highlight was a 4-3 win over Manalapan in the Monmouth County Tournament, in which Sherman went 1-for-3 with with an RBI.

The Bulldogs picked up two wins last week and Riva led the high-scoring attack each time. The senior was 5-for-12 with four doubles and a home run in four games during the week, including a combined 4-for-7 with three doubles, a home run and six RBI in wins over Manasquan and Caldwell.

The Eagles left-hander picked up two wins in two starts last week, spinning six scoreless, three-hit innings in a win over Howell and pitching a complete game in a win over St. John Vianney in the MCT.

He then pitched the equivalent of a complete game and then some, firing 7 2/3 innings with two runs allowed in Wall’s 16-inning win over Red Bank Saturday in the Monmouth County Tournament.

Hallihan opened his week with a six-inning no-hitter with eight strikeouts and three walks in a win over Brick, then closed it out with 11 strikeouts and two walks over six innings in Jackson Memorial’s 6-2 win over Manchester in the first round of the Ocean County Tournament

Gendi overpowered St. John Vianney in a four-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts and one walk in a 9-0 win for the unbeaten Huskies. In the win, Gendi picked up his 100th career strikeout at the varsity level.

Chris Zahlmann, St. Rose

Zahlmann started off his week on the mound by cruising through three shutout innings in a win over Long Branch, then closed it with an equally effective performance in much tougher circumstances. The junior right-hander pitched three scoreless innings of relief with four strikeouts and no walks to earn the win in St. Rose’s win at Manalapan in the Monmouth County Tournament.

Hunter Lefkus, Donovan Catholic

Donovan Catholic bounced back from a tough loss to Delbarton last Sunday thanks to a complete-game effort with eight strikeouts from Lefkus in a 3-1 win over Lacey. The senior right-hander then capped the week by closing out a 1-0 win over Central in the Ocean County Tournament first round with a scoreless seventh inning followed six shutout frames from starter Jake Marciano.

Wild Cards

Jack Mika, Toms River East

Mika took a perfect game into the sixth inning and finished off a no-hitter with one walk and 10 strikeouts in Toms River East’s 6-0 win over Central on April 15. The lone baserunner by Central came on a walk issued by Mika with two out in the top of the sixth inning.

Aiden Lynch, Toms River South

Lynch did not pitch a no-hitter like the other two nominees from Class A South on this list did, but he matched those performances on the scoreboard by pitching two shutouts last week. The junior right-hander pitched a three-hit shutout with two walks and six strikeouts in a win over Toms River North, then scattered eight hits while striking out six in a 3-0 win over Point Boro in the Ocean County Tournament first round.
