Every week this season, Shore Conference wrestling fans will have their chance to vote for the Shore Sports Network Wrestler of the Week on our website.

The winner of the reader's vote for the Week 6 is Manalapan's Alex Baran, who picked up his 100th career win and remained undefeated on the season to continue what has been an outstanding senior season.

Baran went 3-0 during the week of Jan. 14 to Jan. 20 with all three of his wins accruing bonus points. He won by fall over Long Branch's Steven Pabone to reach 99 career wins and then, during a quad meet, he won by 18-4 major decision over Bridgewater-Raritan's Keith Bowden to become the sixth wrestler in Manalapan program history to reach 100 career victories. He concluded the week with an 18-1 technical fall over Ocean's Nick Benner. Baran is 22-0 on the season with eight pins, four technical falls and four major decisions.

Baran is a two-time state qualifier who last season was a District 21 champion, second in Region 6 and advanced to the third round of wrestlebacks at the state tournament. He is the No. 1 seed at 138 pounds for the upcoming Shore Conference Tournament.

It was neck and neck going into the final day of the voting period before Baran pulled away with 30 percent of the votes.
