Senior Zach Gorman pitched a three-hit shutout and went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run to lead the Patriots (5-0, 2-0) to a win over the Eagles (4-2, 0-2), finishing off a sweep of the regular-season series.
Gorman struck out nine and did not walk a batter in his 87-pitch outing and has now allowed just four hits in 12 scoreless innings to open his senior season on the mound.
Senior Chris Corchado delivered a two-run triple to highlight the scoring, while senior Nick Kolozsvary was 2-for-4 with an RBI and junior Ryan Keegan finished 2-for-2 with a run scored for Freehold Township.

Senior Danny Frontera went 3-for-4 with two triples, two runs and an RBI and classmate Tyler Sharkey was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI to lead the Lions (5-0, 2-0) to a second win over the Green Wave (1-4, 0-2) and fifth straight to open the year.
Senior Tony Sansone fired five shutout innings for the win, giving up two hits and three walks while striking out seven.
Frontera tripled home the first run of the game in the first inning and tripled again before scoring the second Middletown North run in the third. Sharkey singled home senior Colin Dowlen (1-for-3) to make it 3-0 and later cracked a two-run double to blow the game open.
Marlboro 5, CBA 2
Senior Mark Capell went the distance on the mound with 12 strikeouts and delivered an RBI single in Marlboro's three-run first inning as the Mustangs (2-4, 1-3) salvaged a series split with the Colts (2-2, 1-1).
Senior Alex Jankowski got the scoring started with a two-run double in the first inning and senior Nick Wright later added an RBI single for Marlboro.
Capell allowed two runs on four hits with no walks allowed against the 12 punchouts.
Class A Central
Holmdel 12, No. 10 Rumson-Fair Haven 11
Senior Brett Hilsheimer hit a game-tying two-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning and the Hornets (2-3, 2-0) won it on an error on groundball hit by junior Sean Brescia, completing a huge comeback that nailed down a regular-season sweep of the Bulldogs (3-2, 0-2).
Holmdel trailed, 10-0, heading into the bottom of the fifth inning and broke out for six runs. Freshman James Vallillo and senior Jason Sparkes each had an RBI double in the rally, while Brescia, Hilsheimer and senior Andrew Woodward seach had an RBI single in the rally.
Hilsheimer also doubled home a run in the sixth on the way to finishing 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs and three RBI. Woodward also singled home a run in the seventh and finished 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.
Vallillo was 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs and an RBI in the win.
Senior Andrew Schmid went 4-for-5 with three doubles, two runs and an RBI while senior Thomas Elgrim was 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI in the loss. Senior Dylan Sakele also went 3-for-4 with two RBI for Rumson while junior teammate Brian Doherty was a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI.
Ocean 2, Raritan 1
Junior Jack Zabarsky hit a game-tying RBI single in the bottom of the sixth and senior Colin Latzsch scored the winning run on an error to give the Spartans a come-from-behind win over the Rockets.

Junior Aiden Denton drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh inning to force in the winning run and make himself the winning pitcher in a Falcons win over the Purpled Roses.
Senior Brian Yaldon and junior James Kelly each collected an RBI single in the first two innings and St. Rose senior Tom Turnbach tied the game in the top of the fifth with a solo home run over the left-field fence.
Kelly also ignited the winning rally with a one-out single in the seventh and touched home as the winning run after Denton's walk.

Junior Anthony Encarnacion drove in both Toms River East runs, including the game-winning RBI triple with two out in the top of the seventh to give the Raiders and senior pitcher Mike Florie the win over the Indians.
Sophomore Bobby Sabatino drew a two-out walk and scored on the Encarnacion triple, and he also singled and scored on an Encanacion single in the top of the third.
Senior Tyler Madeo hit a game-tying RBI double in the bottom of the fifth for Toms River South's lone run.

Senior Eli Gries-Smith collected two hits and three RBI while also nailing down a save in a six-inning win by the Huskies over the Colonials.
Senior Tim Egan added a pair of knocks and two RBI, while junior Jake Brigandi picked up the win in relief.
Colts Neck 2, Wall 1 (9 Innings)
Senior Ben Goldman doubled and scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the top of the ninth to give the Cougars a win over the Crimson Knights - salvaging a regular-season-split against their Class B North rivals.
Goldman also knocked in the tying run in the top of the seventh with an RBI groundout.

Senior Sean O'Mara had two hits in a nine-run Red Bank third inning, including a bases-clearing triple that sparked the Bucs (2-4, 1-2) to a win over the Warriors (1-4, 1-1).
Red Bank entered the top of the third trailing, 5-1, and took the lead on a two-run single by junior Jack Glassberg that made the score 6-5. Sophomore Nate Ruth and junior Gus Dal Pra also picked up RBI singles in the rally, which included a pair of bases-loaded walks as well.
Dal Pra finished the game 4-for-5 with two runs scored and the one RBI.
Glassberg, meanwhile, fired six strong innings of relief to earn the win. During those six frames, the junior gave up one unearned run on three hits and two walks while striking out five on an economical 85 pitches.
Juniors Mike Presbrey and Mike Antonucci each had an RBI single in Manasquan's five-run second inning
Class B Central
Henry Hudson 24, Mater Dei Prep 21
Freshman Brandon Hendrickson went 4-for-5 with three RBI and the Admirals (2-2, 2-0) took advantage of 22 walks issued by Mater Dei pitching to score a season sweep of the Seraphs (0-4, 0-2).
Junior Jake Jacobsen went 4-for-6 with two triples, a home run and five RBI to lead Mater Dei, while senior Kole Devaney was 4-for-6 with four RBI in the loss.
