Toms River East 42, No. 15 Barnegat 36

Senior Steve Scorsone scored 16 points and junior Chris Ende delivered seven points and 10 rebounds in his first start as the Raiders beat the Bengals to clinch a Shore Conference Tournament berth despite missing top scorer Jason McKelvey.

Freshman Gabe Feliciano also threw in eight points for Toms River East.

Junior Mason Krey scored 12 points and classmate Cole Toddings chipped in nine to lead Barnegat.

 

Class A Coastal

Freehold Boro 73, Matawan 55

Junior Brian Tassey posted a triple-double in Freehold Boro's third straight game and the Colonials rolled to a win over the Huskies.

Tassey scored 17 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out 10 assists for his third straight triple-double. Classmate Aidan Hamlin-Woolfolk poured in a team-high 19 points to go with seven rebounds.

Junior Chauncey Brown scored a game-high 20 points and classmate Jayden Elijah added 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead Matawan.

 

Coastal Crossover

No. 1 St. Rose 78, St. John Vianney 38

Freshman Avery Lynch scored 15 points and the Purple Roses completed a perfect run through the Class A and B Coastal divisions by beating the Lancers. With the win, St. Rose clinches the outright Class B Coastal title while also extending its winning streak to 20.

Senior Gio Panzini added 12 points and classmate Matt Hodge scored 10 for St. Rose. Junior Evan Romano pitched in eight points and sophomore Jayden Hodge netted seven in the win.

Freshman Dan Lavan scored nine points and senior Jimmy Elliott added eight to lead St. John Vianney.

 

Non-Division

No. 14 Colts Neck 61, Brick Memorial 33

Juniors Lukas Sloane and Bryce Belcher each scored 11 points to lead a balanced Cougars attack that proved too much for the Mustangs.

Junior Dan Buoncore added eight points for Colts Neck.

Sophomore Nyz Matthews led Brick Memorial with 10 points.

No. 10 Donovan Catholic 51, Middletown North 48

Senior Matt Gerrity scored 12 points on four three-pointers and the Griffins used a balanced scoring effort to pick up a narrow win over the Lions.

Junior Ryan Jacobs and senior Jack Malek each chipped in nine points for Donovan Catholic.

Sophomore Eddie Lopez scored a game-high 15 points, while senior Jason Quardt and junior Colin Byrne each contributed 12 to pace Middletown North.

 

Non-Conference

No. 12 Marlboro 56, Piscataway 39

Senior Steve Scimone led four Marlboro players in double-figures with 18 points and classmate Brave Haugh put up a triple-double as the Mustangs clinched a spot in the Shore Conference Tournament by beating the Chiefs.

Haugh finished with 11 points, 14 rebounds and 12 blocks shots. Senior Dan Elmasri poured in 14 points and freshman Nolan Gong added 10 for Marlboro.
