Every week this season, Shore Conference football fans will have their chance to vote for the Ocean County Sports Medicine Shore Conference Football Player of the Week on our website. The winner of the poll each week will receive a $25 gift card to Burger 25 in Toms River.

The winner of the Week 7 Player of the Week award is Pinelands senior defensive lineman Mike Hall, who scored the game-winning touchdown as part of a huge defensive game that propelled the Wildcats to a 12-7 victory over Monmouth Regional to keep their playoff hopes alive.

With Pinelands trailing 7-6 in the fourth quarter, Hall scooped up a Monmouth fumble and raced 26 yards for a touchdown, giving the Wildcats their first lead of the game and sending them on their way to their third straight victory. Hall totaled eight tackles, one sack, and two tackles for loss along with his clutch defensive touchdown.

For the season, Hall is second on the team with 63 tackles and leads the team with four sacks and 11 tackles for loss. His play is a major reason Pinelands' defense has allowed just 83 points in seven games, good for an average of 11,9 per contest.

The Wildcats have won three games in a row and sit at 4-3 entering the final full week of the regular season under first-year head coach John Tierney. They have an outside shot at the playoffs but would need to defeat Manchester (2-5) at home on Friday night and then have multiple results go their way. Still, Pinelands has a chance at the program's first winning season since 2004 when it went 6-5 and won the program's only playoff game in history.

Hall won a close race with Middletown North running back Neno Morgan-Acker by securing just over 29 percent of the votes. Rumson-Fair Haven senior wide receiver Scott Venancio was third.
