Neptune 5, No. 3 Wall 3
Senior Sebastian Jno-Baptiste hit a game-tying solo home run in the bottom of the seventh and senior Ron Cole followed with a game-winning two-run home run two batters later to give the Scarlet Fliers a dramatic, walk-off win over the Crimson Knights.
The meeting was the first between the two teams since Neptune shocked Wall in the first round of the 2017 NJSIAA Central Jersey Group III Tournament - the first of three wins by the 14th-seeded Scarlet Fliers on the way to an appearance in the sectional final. Jno-Baptiste and Cole were both sophomore starters on that team.
Jno-Baptiste took Grant Shulman deep to right field and junior Jett Tinik was hit by a pitch with a 2-2 count to set the stage for Cole, who launched his game-winning homer on a 1-0 count.
Wall loaded the bases in the top of the seventh but senior Kyle Bailey recorded a strikeout with the bases loaded on a full-count pitch.
