Brick, Toms River South Pick up Wins in American Legion Playoffs

Brick Post 348 and Toms River South Post 129 each picked up wins in Thursday's Ocean County American Legion action as the field continues to whittle down in the double-elimination tournament.

Game #8 Winners Bracket: Brick Post 348 (4) Donovan Catholic (1)

Hunter Rizzuto pitched a complete game three-hitter, striking out five and walking three, to send the Green Dragons to the win over the Griffins.

Marc Wissen hit an RBI double and AJ Serrino added an RBI groundout in a two-run third inning for Brick, which will face Mystic Island Post 493 in a winner's bracket semifinal on Monday.

Game #6 Losers Bracket: Toms River South Post 129 (9) - Toms River North (3)

Justin Fall, Connor Feeney and Nick Scrudato combined for the win on the mound as Toms River South got its first victory since June 29 to keep its playoff run alive.

Senior Trevor Wagner went 3-for-4 to lead the offense, which also got two hits apiece from Trevor Wagner, Ben Montenegro and Jared Kwicinski.
