Quarterfinals

(4) CBA 8, (5) Central 0

Sophomore Luca Dalatri pitched a two-hit shutout with five strikeouts and one walk and the Colts sealed the game with five runs in the bottom of the sixth to beat the Golden Eagles and advance to the Shore Conference Tournament semifinals against No. 9 Red Bank Catholic.

Junior first baseman John Moschella belted a two-run home run to cap the sixth-inning rally, as well as a 2-for-3 day at the plate. Moscella also doubled home a run in the first inning and finished with three RBI.

Sophomore catcher Brandon Martorano went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI, while senior right fielder Will Morgan was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

(3) Wall 7, (19) Brick 6

The Crimson Knights scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth and held on the beat the Green Dragons and advance to the SCT semifinals next Wednesday against No. 7 Barnegat.

Dan Wondrack went 1-for-3 with three RBI while Jack Gifford and Ryan Orender each went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Branden Biegert was also 1-for-2 with two runs scored for Wall.

Brian Gallagher went 3-for-4 with two RBI and Nick Zbranak hit a two-run double to headline the Brick lineup.

Bobby Patterson pitched the first five innings to earn the win for Wall.

(7) Barnegat 5, (2) Toms River East 2

Jared Kacso hit a home run for insurance and John Corbett pitched the Bengals past the Raiders and into the SCT semifinals for the first time in program history. Barnegat will play No. 6 Wall in next Wednesday's semifinal.

(9) Red Bank Catholic 4, (1) Freehold Township 3

Senior Al Molina struck out 10 and did not allow an earned in a complete-game four-hitter and also picked up his 100th career hit as the Caseys edged the top-seeded Patriots to advance to the SCT semifinals.

Senior Brendan Madigan also recorded his 100th career hit with a sixth-inning single and finished 3-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base. Molina reached the 100-hit plateau with an RBI double in RBC's three-run first inning. Doug Facendo followed Molina's double with a two-run single to stake the Caseys to a 3-0 lead.

Mike Spinelli delivered the go-head hit, an RBI single in the top of the sixth inning that broke a 3-3 tie.

Freehold Township tied the game in the bottom of the first inning with a three-run double by senior Chris Rose. Nick Cardace led Freehold Township with three of the four hits against Molina in a 3-for-3 day.

Red Bank Catholic will host the semifinals on its turf at Count Basie Park and will play No. 4 CBA in its semifinal.

 

Non-Division

Brick Memorial 4, Jackson Liberty 2

Brian Markoski went 2-for-2 with a solo home run, a double and two runs scored and Matt Cuppari broke a 2-2 tie with a two-run single in the sixth to propel the Mustangs to a win over the Lions.

Tyler Hobbs also went 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored, while Jake Voss threw 1 1/3 innings to earn the win in relief. Seniors Will Kirchoff and Tyler Goodman combined on five shutout innings before Jackson Liberty rallied to tied the game in the top of the sixth.

Marlboro at Freehold, 4 p.m.

Pinelands 4, Southern 1

Tyler Carney pitched a complete-game four-hitter and struck out three to lead the Wildcats to a win over the Rams in the Doc Cramer Classic.

 

Non-Conference

Mahwah 9, Red Bank 3

Isaiah Sestito and Kyle Mulholland each went 2-for-3 and Jacob Nappi and Connor Kelly were both 2-for-4, but the Bucs fell at Mahwah. Sestito also knocked in two runs and Kelly knocked in one in the loss.
