Every week this spring, Shore Sports Network will be honoring the top boys lacrosse players in the Shore Conference with a weekly player of the week poll. We will nominate multiple individuals for their accomplishments over the prior week and put it to a vote to determine the SSN Boys Lacrosse Player of the Week.

Scroll down to read through the list of nominees for Week 5 and cast your vote. The poll will run through Sunday at midnight and the winner will be revealed on Monday.

Week 5 (May 2 to May 8) SSN Boys Lacrosse Player of the Week Nominees (listed alphabetically)

Nick Blalock, Jr., Attack, CBA

Blalock scored 10 goals and added seven assists in three CBA wins over Manalapan, Howell, and Manalapan again in the SCT as the Colts clinched the Class A North division title.

 

Nick Campbell, Sr., Midfield, Point Boro

Campbell scored a career-high seven goals plus one assist in a win over Ocean and then had a goal and an assist in a loss to St. Rose.

 

Matt DeRosa, Sr., Attack, Jackson Memorial

DeRosa sank eight goals and assisted on three others over a three-game span. He went over the 150-point milestone for his career, as well.

 

James Farinacci, Jr., Attack, Manasquan

Farinacci netted five goals and three assists when Manasquan clinched the Class B South division title with an 18-4 win over Barnegat. He also had a goal and an assist in a loss to Pingry.

 

Jacob Juliano, Sr., Attack, Long Branch

The Green Wave earned their first win of the season with a 9-3 victory over Newark Eastside and Juliano led the way with a career-high six points on four goals and two assists. He also had four goals and one assist in a loss to J.P. Stevens.

 

Matt Lynch, Sr., Midfield, Red Bank

Lynch totaled seven goals and four assists in four RBR victories, headlined by his overtime game-winning goal as time expired in the Bucs' 8-7 SCT win over Holmdel.

 

Doug MacKenzie, Sr., Midfield, Howell

MacKenzie scored twice in a loss to CBA and then supplied four goals and one assist in an 8-7 win over Middletown South during the Shore Conference Tournament.

 

Sam Madalone, So., Midfield, Shore Regional

Madalone netted five goals and dished out seven assists in two games as the Blue Devils picked up wins over Jackson Memorial and Red Bank Catholic.

 

Jack Powers, Fr., FOGO, Holmdel

Powers won 42 of 52 face-offs in three games, going 18-for-25 vs. Donovan Catholic, 9-for-9 vs. Neptune, and 15-for-18 vs. Red Bank Regional during the Shore Conference Tournament.

 

Ryan Sininsky, Sr., Attack, Southern

Sininsky had four goals and four assists to reach 100 career goals during the Rams' win over Toms River North which also clinched Southern's ninth straight Class A South division title and extended their divisional winning streak to 63 games. Sininsky totaled 10 goals and three assists in three games during the week.

 

Connor Spagnuola, Sr., Attack, Rumson-Fair Haven

Spagnuola scored five goals in a 19-0 win over Ocean that clinched the Class B North division title for Rumson.

 

Matt VanNortwick, Sr., Attack, Lacey

Lacey picked up a pair of wins with victories over Toms River North and Donovan Catholic and VanNortwick helped lead the way with seven goals and one assist, including five goals in a 13-6 win over Donovan.

 

Colin Westhoven, Sr., Midfield, St. Rose

Westhoven tallied three goals and two assists in a win over Point Boro to reach 100 points for his career. He totaled eight goals and seven assists in wins over Freehold Township, Point Boro, and Toms River East.
