Shore Conference Tournament - Round of 16

4-CBA 14, 13-Manalapan 5

Junior attackman Nick Blalock delivered four goals and four assists and sophomore attackman Ryan Martin tallied four goals and two assists to power the Colts (10-6) to a win over the Braves (7-7) to advance to the SCT quarterfinals.

Liam Schwartz added two goals while Davis Campbell, Jack Phillips, Brendan Donnelly, and PJ Rawlins each scored once. Brandon DeSena (4 saves) and Jeff Frankenburg (2) saves shared time in goal.

Christian Zdiarski and Frankie D'Amore each scored twice and Alex Kaplan made 12 saves for Manalapan.

CBA will host Southern Regional in the quarterfinals.

 

9-Red Bank 8, 8-Holmdel 7 (OT)

Senior midfielder Matt Lynch scored off a pass from junior attackman Trey Lynch with no time left in the first overtime period as the Bucs (9-5) won an instant classic over the Hornets (10-6) to advance to the Shore Conference Tournament quarterfinals.

Red Bank led for nearly the entire game until Holmdel mounted a furious rally in the final 3:25 to force overtime. Goals by Jaden Gallo, Will Gilfillan, Aidan Lagana, and Gilfillan with 1:46 on the clock tied the game 7-7. Holmdel won the overtime face-off but Red Bank goalie Gavin Lisko made a big save and Red Bank was able to get possession to set up the game-winning goal.

Junior attackman Ryder Villani and sophomore Andrew Pape each scored three times while Matt Lynch had two goals and one assist. Trey Lynch had two assists and Matt Kelly chipped in with one assist. Lisko finished with seven saves.

Gilfillan led Holmdel with three goals and one assist and Aidan Lagana also scored three times. Gallo scored once and Kyle Kapcsos had two assists. Freshman FOGO Jack Powers had another huge game by going 16-for-18 at the face-off X. Junior goalie Andrew Arredondo had a strong game with eight saves.
