Freehold Township 9, Marlboro 4

Ben Rothman scored twice to lead the way for Marlboro. Kyle Potterton and Noah Gothelf each scored once and DJ Silvia made seven saves.

 

Class A South

Toms River North 11, Central 1

Junior attackman Nick Walano buried five goals and assisted on two more to lead the Mariners to a victory over the Golden Eagles.

Sophomore attackman Connor Kromer delivered four goals and senior Patrick Bennet and freshman Ben Misa each scored once. Junior defenseman William Sutton recorded his first career points with two assists, senior attackman Kevin McCarthy also had two assists, and junior goalie Evan Singer made 16 saves.

 

Jackson Memorial 9, Brick 2

Senior attackman Matt DeRosa tallied four goals and three assists and senior goalie Hunter Olsen made 10 saves to lead the Jaguars to a victory over the Dragons.

Sophomore attackman Drew Barocas added two goals and one assist and senior midfielder Charlie Harrison had a goal and two assists and also won 8 of 12 face-offs. Justin Perillo had a goal and an assist and Elias Craig scored once. Harrison, senior defenseman Mike Rauch, and junior defenseman Tyler Domanico each collected a team-high five ground balls.

 

Class B North

No. 1 Rumson-Fair Haven 19. Ocean 0

Senior attackman Connor Spagnuola scored five times and senior FOGO Braiden Spagnuola won 12 of 13 face-offs as the Bulldogs (12-4, 7-0) shut out the Spartans (3-12, 1-6) to clinch the Class B North division title.

Also supplying multiple points for Rumson were John Maguire with three goals and two assists, Jack McCarren with two goals and three assists, Philip Passalaqua with three goals, Griffin Kolb with two goals, Cole Cashion and Vincent Raphalian with a goal and an assist each, and Aiden Stevenson with two assists. Grayson Goldin and Bryce Devlin each scored. once. Will Settedcuate (1 save) and Alex Baret (2 saves) split time in goal.

 

No. 5 Shore 12, No. 10 Red Bank Catholic 10

Senior attackman Carson Cooke powered the offense with five goals and three assists and junior goalie Walker Hunter made 13 saves as the Blue Devils (9-2, 6-1) shut down the Caseys (11-5, 4-3) in the first meeting of back-to-back games this week.

The game was tied 9-9 at halftime before Shore outscored RBC 3-1 in the second half. Shore was seeded sixth for the upcoming Shore Conference Tournament and RBC was seeded 11th, meaning the teams will meet again on Saturday in the round of 16.

Sophomore midfielder Sam Madalone had a goal and two assists while senior midfielder Jamie Mazzacco and junior Ben Levy each scored twice. Carson Spallone added a goal and an assist and Aidan Murphy scored once.

Sophomore attackman Jackson Lu scored two goals with two assists, junior midfielder Torin Harmon had a goal and three assists, and junior goalie Christian Schrader made 11 saves to lead RBC. Ryan Brown scored twice, NicK Cosimano had a goal and an assist plus 13 ground balls, Leo Cosimano also had a goal and an assist, and Connor Harms, Sam Fertal, and Peter Villare had one goal apiece.

 

Holmdel 13, Neptune 0

Senior attackman Evan Cohen and freshman attackman Brian Volpe each registered three goals and one assist to lead the Hornets (10-5, 4-3) past the Scarlet Fliers (1-11, 0-6).

Sophomore midfielder Gary Collyer also scored three times while sophomore attackman Ryan Subotic scored twice for his first varsity goals. Will Gilfillan added a goal and two assists, Aidan Lagana had a goal and an assist, and Kyle Kapcsos and Jared Battaglia each supplied three assists. Sophomore goalie Casey Dowd made seven saves to pick up the win.

 

Class B South

St. Rose 10, Point Boro 4

Senior midfielder Colin Westhoven struck for three goals and two assists to reach 100 career points and lead the Purple Roses (8-5, 4-2) to a victory over the Panthers (11-3, 4-2).

John Harold added two goals and one assist while Jeff Vitale, Sean Lattimer, and Dan Bair had one goal each. Jeff Vitale also picked up a team-high seven ground balls. Chris DeVoy made eight saves in goal to earn the win.

Nick Campbell had a goal and an assist plus a game-high eight ground balls to lead Point Boro. Matt Koehler, Spencer Knapp, and Brian Ostrander each scored once.

 

Lacey 13, Donovan Catholic 6

Freshman attackman Corey Smith scored five goals and added three assists and senior attackman Matt VanNortwick totaled four goals and one assist to power the Lions (7-7, 2-5) to a division win over the Griffins (3-10, 1-5)

Senior midfielder John Dodaro scored twice, senior attackman Gaetano Dimiele had a goal and two assists, and senior defenseman Jack Borel scored once. Senior defenseman Dominic Tarricone chipped in with one assist and junior goalie Chad Moore made 10 saves.

Sophomore midfielder Andrew Baltus had two goals and one assist and sophomore attackman Jack Farlekas had a goal and two assists to lead Donovan Catholic. Freshman middie Sonny Vanesko, senior middie Randy Spurling, and freshman LSM Michael Poskay had one goal each, and senior Connor Durante dished out two assists.

Lacey led 9-4 at halftime and 10-5 heading into the fourth quarter.

 

No. 2 Manasquan 18, Barnegat 4

 

 

Nonconference

Long Branch 9, Newark East Side 3

Senior attackman Jacob Juliano totaled a career-high six points on four goals and two assists to lead the Green Wave (1-13) past the Red Raiders (0-11) for their first win of the season.

Ka'von Williams and Angel Castro each scored twice with Williams also winning 7 of 12 face-offs. Kai Coleman scored once and won 4 of 4 face-offs and Jordan Perkins picked up a team-high six ground balls.
