WindMill Shore Conference Week 3 Boys Lacrosse Team of the Week: Point Boro
Every week this spring, WindMill Restaurants and Shore Sports Network will be teaming up to select a Lacrosse Team of the Week based on its performance over the past week.
The WindMill Team of the Week for Week 3 is Point Boro, which picked up a pair of victories to extend its winning streak and continue a successful season. Shore Sports Network stopped by practice on Tuesday afternoon to present the Panthers and head coach Pat Brady with a Team of the Week certificate and a WindMill gift card for a team meal.
Week 3 ran from April 17 to April 23.
Point Boro suffered a loss to No. 3 Wall on the third day of the season but rebounded immediately with five straight wins. After a 19-0 shutout of Marlboro on April 10, the Panthers won three straight Class B South games with victories over Donovan Catholic (12-5), Lacey (13-3), and Jackson Liberty (17-9). They ended last week with a 15-4 nonconference road win over Middle Township.
Point Boro also joined the latest Shore Sports Network Top 10 but saw their winning streak snapped on Wednesday via a 4-3 loss to Barnegat.
Sophomore attackman Brady Kirk has had a marvelous season with 23 goals and 22 assists for 45 points. He recently reached the 100-point plateau and also set the program single-game record for assists (9) and points (14) during the win over Jackson Liberty. Senior Brian Ostrander has also helped lead the offense with 23 goals and 18 assists for 41 points.
