Week 1 (March 27-April 6) Boys Lacrosse Player of the Week nominees (listed in alphabetical order)

Connor Ard, Jr., Attack, Middletown South

After setting a program record for wins in a season last year, Middletown South is off to great start with a perfect 5-0 record. Ard has paced the Eagles’ offense with 16 goals and 10 assists and looks well on his way to eclipsing the 43 points he posted as a sophomore.

 

Canyon Birch, Sr., Attack, Manasquan

The leading scorer in New Jersey last season is off to a blistering start with 22 goals and 12 assists to help the top-ranked Warriors start 4-0. All four wins have come against teams ranked in the Shore Sports Network Top 10. Birch broke the Shore Conference record for career goals in the first game of the season and next has his sights set on the all-time Shore points record of 431. Birch will enter Wednesday’s game against No. 10 St. John Vianney with 296 career goals and 422 career points.

 

Anthony Brett, Jr., Midfield, St. John Vianney

Brett has posted 11 goals and state-best 19 assists and also collected 52 ground balls to help the Lancers to a 4-1 start. He also recorded his 100th point during the opening 10 days of the season.

 

Kevin Clohosey, Sr., Midfield, Neptune

Clohosey scored twice against Red Bank to record his 100th career goal. He has 15 goals and three assists this season.

 

Holden Lowe, Sr., Attack, Ocean

Lowe recorded his 100th career when the Spartans opened the season with a 9-8 win over Brick. He has 11 goals and two assists on the season.

 

Connor Macrae, Sr., CBA

Macrae scored six goals and dished out four assists in a win over Howell to go over the 100-point plateau for his career. He has 15 goals and six assists on the season.

 

Ryan McGee, So., Attack, Red Bank

McGee is among the Shore Conference scoring leaders early this season with 18 goals and six assists. He opened the season with five goals and three assists in a win over St. Rose.

 

Logan Peters, So., Attack, Wall

Peters has 15 goals and 13 assists for 28 points in four games this season. He has two 10-point games, including, a seven-goal effort in a win over Brick.

 

Nick Tuccillo, Sr., Goalie, Holmdel

Tuccillo set a program single-game record when he made 27 saves in an overtime loss to St. John Vianney. He has 85 saves in six games to help the Hornets start the season with a 4-2 record.

 

Dominic Waltonowski, Sr., Attack, Lacey

Waltonowski opened the season with seven goals and three assists in a win over Toms River South and has 14 goals and 11 assists in just three games.

 

Jack Zenkert, Jr., Attack, Red Bank Catholic

After posting 64 goals last season, Zenkert is back at it with 17 goals and four assists in four games this season. He recorded his 100th career goal during a win over Donovan Catholic.
