Every week this season, Shore Conference lacrosse fans will have their chance to vote for the Shore Sports Network Boys Lacrosse Player of the Week on our website.

The Week 6 (May 6-May 12) winner is Donovan Catholic senior midfielder Trevor Barber, who scored nine goals and added three assists to reach 100 career points, all while having a dominant three games at the face-off X to close out a great senior season. Barber and all Player of the Week recipients this season will receive a $25 Surf Taco gift card.

Barber began the week by scoring twice, picking up five ground balls and winning 20 of 22 face-offs in a game against Toms River North.

Two days later, Barber tied a career-high with seven points by scoring four goals and assisting on three more in a win over Toms River South to go over 100 points for his career. Barber also went 23-for-29 on face-offs and collected eight ground balls against the Indians.

Barber and the Griffins closed out their season with a 10-9 victory over Toms River East. Barber recorded a hat trick, gathered six ground balls and won 19 of 21 face-offs.

Barber distinguished himself as one of the Shore Conference’s top face-off middies over the past two years and finished his career with 438 face-off wins and a 75% winning percentage. This season, Barber scored a career-high 43 goals and added seven assists for a career-best 50 points. He won 77 percent of face-offs and collected 79 ground balls.

He will continue his career at Lynn University in Florida, a nationally-ranked Division 2 program.

Barber won the Player of the Week poll with 35.47 percent of the votes.
