Every week during the 2017 season, Shore Conference wrestling fans will have their chance to vote for the Shore Sports Network Wrestler of the Week on our website, with tens of thousands of votes cast so far this year.

The Wrestler of the Week from Jan. 9 to Jan. 15 is Freehold senior 132-pounder Sean Neely, who captured an individual title at the Buc Classic to lead the Colonials to the team title.

Neely was the top seed in the 132-pound bracket and won the tournament title with a technical fall and two major decisions. He won 22-7 in 5:21 over New Brunswick's Steven Almanzar in the quarterfinals, then defeated Red Bank's Luke Devine, 15-5, in the semifinals. In the championship bout Neely won by 15-4 major decision over Metuchen's Chris Little.

The Colonials had six top-three finishers in the tournament to win the team title by 42.5 points over New Brunswick (165.6-123), and Neely was their only champion.

Neely also won by fall in a win over Neptune and finished his week 4-1. He is 10-4 on the season.

Neely was the overwhelming winner of the vote with 85.31 percent of the votes.
