Every week this season, Shore Conference ice hockey fans will have their chance to vote for the Shore Sports Network Ice Hockey Player of the Week on our website.

The winner of the Week 4 Player of the Week poll is Toms River North senior defenseman Justin Ervelli, who totaled eight points in two games to help the Mariners remain undefeated.

Ervelli had three goals and five assists in two games, including a timely goal in a thrilling victory over Toms River East. The senior blueliner scored twice in a 4-3 win over the Raiders and it was his goal with 49 seconds left in regulation that tied the score at three and set up DJ Freed to net the game-winning goal with just 20 seconds left. In a 10-5 win over Lacey, Ervelli had a goal and a career-high five assists.

Toms River North improved to 6-0 with a 6-0 win over Howell and Ervelli had one assist in the game. He has three goals and 11 assists this season and has recorded a point in all six of Toms River North's games.

Some polls are close, but this wasn't one of them despite some great nominees. Ervelli was the runaway winner with over 51 percent of all votes cast. Rumson-Fair Haven's Brett Pritchard was second and Howell's James Fay finished third. Manalapan senior Ryan Bechutsky deserves another shoutout for recording hat tricks in three straight games.
