Every week this season, Shore Conference ice hockey fans will have their chance to vote for the Shore Sports Network Ice Hockey Player of the Week on our website.

The Week 1 Player of the Week is Central Regional senior forward Trevor Coltenback who posted 12 points in the Golden Eagles' first three games to lead the team to a 3-0 start.

Coltenback opened the season by assisting on all three goals in Central's 3-0 victory over Howell. The Golden Eagles opened their South Division schedule with a 6-3 victory over Brick and Coltenback netted one goal and three assists to power the offense. He closed out his strong opening week with three goals and two assists to lead the way in a 10-2 victory over Brick Memorial.

Coltenback has four goals and eight assists so far this season. His eight assists lead the Shore Conference and his 12 points are tied for the conference lead. Last season, Coltenback had 18 goals and 26 assists.

Central returns to action tonight (Wednesday, Jan. 27) against Toms River East/South and will also take on Lacey on Friday night.

Coltenback won a close and balanced poll with 22.49 percent of the votes to win with Manalapan's John Fox and Red Bank's Gordon Odgen finishing second and third, respectively.
