No. 7 Middletown South 15, St. John Vianney 3

Jason Allen, Ryan Paulsen and Aidan Kane each registered three goals and one assist as the Eagles (2-0) utilized a balanced scoring attack to cruise to a victory over the Lancers (0-2).

Luke Platzke, Mark Tardy, Matt Mauro, Colin Gallagher, Will Waldman and Tyler Wishniewski each scored once.

Mason Shenk scored twice and Kush Mutha scored once for St. John Vianney.

 

Red Bank 18, Colts Neck 9

Senior attackman Ryan McGee fired in five goals and assisted on five others and sophomore midfielder Henry Spencer scored six goals with two assists to lead an offensive surge that propelled the Bucs (1-1) past the Cougars (0-1).

Senior long-stick midfielder Gordon Odgen and sophomore attackman Ryder Villani each added two goals and two assists, freshman attackman Andrew Pape had two goals and one assist and junior attackman Matt Lynch scored once. Sophomore goalie Gavin Lisko made 12 saves.

 

Brick Memorial 5, Ocean 3

Senior midfielder Darren Romaine and senior attackman Filipe Correia each scored twice to lead the Mustangs (2-0) past the Spartans (1-1) in a defensive-minded game.

Senior attackman Chris Marks scored once and junior goalie PJ Mazzo made eight saves for Brick Memorial. Senior defenseman Luke Vojtko led the Mustangs with nine ground balls while senior midfielder Luke Ray collected eight ground balls and Romaine had seven ground balls.

Hyatt Lowe, Michael Terry and Josh Thurman scored for Ocean and senior goalie Garrett Schwab made 13 saves.

 

St. Rose 6, Middletown North 4

Senior midfielder Logan LeMoult scored two goals and two assists and senior attackman Brendan Dwyer sank two goals with one assist to give the Purple Roses (2-0) the win over the Lions (0-1).

Junior midfielder Colin Westhoven and sophomore defenseman James Magrini each scored once and senior goalie Max MacEachern made eight saves.

No. 2 Rumson-Fair Haven 13, Bergen Catholic 6

Junior attackman Christian Bockelmann scored four goals and senior attackman Luke Devlin totaled three goals and two assists as the Bulldogs (2-0) used a dominant third quarter to defeat the Crusaders for a huge road victory.

Trailing 6-5 at the start of the second half, Rumson scored seven times in the third quarter and one more in the fourth all while shutting out Bergen Catholic over the final 24 minutes. Bergen Catholic entered the game ranked No. 10 in the state by NJ.com. It is Rumson's second win over a ranked team in as many games after they took down No. 15 Chatham on opening day.

Senior midfielder Patrick Jamin also had a big hand in the victory with two goals and two assists while Philip Pasalaqua had a goal and two assists and Thomas French and Cole Cashion each tallied a goal and an assist.

Senior goalie Ryan Croddick made five saves and received a great performance in front of him by a tenacious defense that helped limit Penn State commit Brendan Kelly to just two goals.
