Gordon Conference

CBA 3, Gloucester Catholic 1

Sophomore William Thygeson scored twice in the second period and freshman Christian Chuoha scored in the third period as the top-ranked Colts (4-0, 3-0) defeated the Rams (1-1, 1-1) in a battle of top-five teams in New Jersey.

CBA led 3-0 until Mike Hoffner scored with 2:44 left. Junior goalie John Donohoe made 15 saves to earn the win and junior Aidan Guinnessey chipped in with two assists.

 

South Division

Central 3, Toms River East 0

Junior winger Mark Anthony Competello scored twice, including the game-winning goal in the first period, and senior goalie Nick Bilinski made 26 saves as the Golden Eagles (4-0, 3-0) blanked the Raiders (2-2, 1-2) to remain undefeated.

Competello scored unassisted at 4:07 of the first period when he gained control of a loose puck near the right face-off circle and tucked a shot in on the short side. Central's lead grew to 2-0 when senior center Trevor Coltenback took a loose puck in his own end, gained the offensive zone and ripped a shot from the left circle that found the back of the net. Competello added an empty-net goal with 2:43 to play.

Central's penalty kill unit was a perfect 3-for-3, including killing off a five-minute major late in the first period.

 

Nondivisional

St. John Vianney 3, Marlboro 3

Junior goalie Dmitri Kapranov was outstanding with 45 saves to help the Mustangs (1-2-1, 0-1-1) forge a tie with the unbeaten Lancers (2-0-1, 0-0-1).

Senior defenseman Daniel Goldstein, senior forward Sam Scharf and junior forward Zachary Robinson scored for Marlboro while junior forward Ethan Gelman had two assists.

Senior forward SJ LeComte scored twice and junior forward Luc Barnett scored once for St. John Vianney.
