Middletown South 5, Middletown North 3

Senior forward Michael Volpi scored the game-tying goal with 2:13 left in the third period and junior forward Aiden Cavendish netted the game-winning power-play goal with 1:19 to play as the Eagles (6-5-3, 4-2-3) rallied to win the Mayor's Cup in their final game of the season.

Power-play goals by junior defenseman Andreas Forand and Volpi in the second period equaled Middletown North goals by John Betz and Jimmy Mullarney as the teams entered the third period tied 2-2. The Lions (3-4, 0-4) took a 3-2 lead 52 seconds into the third period on a power-play goal by John Miranda before the Eagles rallied to take the lead in the final three minutes. Cavendish added an empty-net goal with 60 seconds left.

Volpi led Middletown South with two goals and two assists, Cavendish scored twice, Forand had a goal and an assist and junior forward Nate Block had two assists. Junior goalie Jack Collings made 17 saves.

Justin Dickinson made 21 saves for Middletown North.
