Freshman forward Michael Schmelzer scored twice and junior goalie Joseph Cartigiano made 10 saves as the Colts (2-0, 1-0) blanked the Warriors (0-1, 0-1).
Leighton Biesiadecki and Colin Grable added goals and Robert Setteducati, Christian Chuoha and Patrick Reilly had one assist each.
Conall Dougherty made 20 saves for Manasquan.
Middletown South 3, Marlboro 0
A second-period goal by junior forward Luke Finn stood up as the game-winning goal as he Eagles (2-0, 1-0) blanked the Mustangs (1-1, 1-1).
Freshman defenseman Owen Oglevee scored with 8:26 left in the third to give Middletown South a two-goal cushion and freshman forward Justin Ferlanti added an empty-net goal with 30 seconds remaining. It was the first high school goal for both Oglevee and Ferlanti.
Central Division
Toms River North 4, Freehold 2
Senior center Cole Schneider scored twice and added an assist to become the first player in program history to reach 200 career points as the Mariners (2-0, 2-0) rallied from a two-goal deficit to defeat the Colonials (1-1, 1-1).
Anthony DeFalco and Joe Frattaroli each scored once for Toms River North.
South Division
Red Bank 8, Brick Memorial 3
Senior Gordon Ogden tallied a hat trick plus two assists while senior Ethan Cornish and juniors Sam Almasy and Nate Cooper each registered three points to lead the Bucs (1-0, 1-0) to a victory over the Mustangs (0-2, 0-1).
Cooper had two goals and one assist and Almasy and Cornish each had one goal and two assists. Sophomore Andrew Pinto added a goal and sophomore Gus Filippelli made 12 saves to earn his first varsity win.
Nonconference
St. John Vianney 5, St. Joseph (Metuchen) 2
Senior forward Ryan Kulaszewski recorded a hat trick and junior forward Luc Barnett and junior defenseman Alec Osher each scored once to lead the Lancers (2-0) past the Falcons.
Rob Calice added two assists and Dan Shallcross was great in goal with 33 saves.
