Gordon Conference

No. 1 CBA 6, St. Joseph (Montvale) 1

Sophomore defenseman Patrick Reilly and sophomore forward Leighton Biesiadecki each recorded a goal and two assists and junior goalie Joseph Cartigiano made 15 saves to lead the Colts (7-1-1) past the Green Knights (1-2-1).

Zach Wagnon, Pete Vallebuona, Thomas Atanacio and William Tygeson each scored once and Christian Chouha had two assists.

 

North Division

No. 2 St. John Vianney 8, No. 5 Manasquan 2

The Lancers (4-1-2, 1-1-2) scored three times in a span of 2:05 in the first period and then scored five times in the third period to put away the Warriors (0-1-1, 0-1-1) and emerge with an emphatic victory.

Senior forward SJ LeComte scored twice, junior defenseman Alec Osher had a goal and two assists, junior forward Giuliano Fazio had a goal and an assist and freshman defenseman Dakota Vastola had three assists. Senior forwards Ryan Kulaszewski and Pat Condello, junior forward Rob Calice and sophomore forward Dom Mazzella each scored once and sophomore defenseman Pat Haines added two assists. Dan Shallcross made nine saves to earn the win in goal.

Braden Ryan and Jonathan Vogel scored goals for Manasquan in the final four minutes of play to avoid the shutout.

 

Central Division

Southern 4, Wall 2

Junior forward Christopher Laureigh powered the Rams with two goals and two assists as Southern (4-2, 2-0) built a lead and held off the Crimson Knights (1-2, 0-1) to claim their fourth consecutive victory.

Junior Brooks Hradek and senior Parker Lech added a goal and an assist each and junior goalie Trey Mattern was strong between the pipes with 30 saves.

 

South Division

No. 7 Central 7, Red Bank 0

Junior forward Domenick Competello scored a career-high four goals and senior goalie Nick Bilinski made 22 saves as the Golden Eagles (7-0, 5-0) rolled to a victory over the Bucs (2-3, 2-1) to remain undefeated.

Competello registered a natural hat trick in the first period and then scored the first goal of the second period to give Central a commanding 4-0 lead. Corey van den Berg added two goals and one assist and Dom Wiatrowski assisted on three of Competello's four goals. Joey Klutkoski added a goal and an assist and Trevor Coltenback had two assists.

 

Nondivisional

Marlboro 11, Freehold Township 4

Ben Levy, Jake Nied, Kevin Spallin, Justin Morris, Matt Williams and David Mord all scored their first varsity goals and Robert Valentino made 10 saves in his first varsity action as the Mustangs (4-2-2) dominated the Patriots (2-7).

Daniel Goldstein and Ethan Gelman led the way for Marlboro with two goals and an assist each while Paul Golembiewski tallied three assists. Levy and Spallin both finished with a goal and two assists. Ryan Kapp added two assists and Dmitri Kapranov got the start and made nine saves on 10 shots.

Dylan Jacobi led Freehold Township with a goal and an assist.

 

Nonconference

Manalapan 6, South Brunswick 3

Senior captain Ryan Bechutsky notched a hat trick for the second consecutive game and Pat McCarty tied the program record for career wins with his 20th victory as the Braves (4-2) doubled up the Vikings (4-3-1) to win their third game in a row.

Bechutsky finished with three goals and one assist while Nicholas Weissman added a goal and an assist and Giancarlo Totillo and Thomas Pearsall each scored once. McCarty made 31 saves. Manalapan led 2-0 after the first period and increased its lead to 5-2 heading into the third period.
