Guests from a pair of teams playing for a spot in a state championship game included Matawan head coach John Kaye and senior wide receiver/defensive back Justin Ferrara. The fifth-seeded Huskies will host eighth-seeded Ocean on Friday night in a bid to reach the Central Jersey Group III final, where the winner will face the winner of Friday's Long Branch-Carteret game.

In Ocean County, second-seeded Brick will host third-seeded Jackson Memorial in a hugely-anticipated showdown between two of the Shore Conference's best teams in the Central Jersey Group IV semifinals. Brick head coach Rob Dahl and senior linebacker James Juliano talked about the rematch with the Jaguars, whom the Green Dragons beat 30-24 in an overtime classic in the regular season.
