The Basketball Player of the Week has been a staple of Shore Sports Network's coverage over the years and we have always left it up to the fans to decide the winner -- and still do. Now, SSN is recognizing its own choices for Player of the Week, not just in the Shore Conference, but in Monmouth and Ocean Counties individually.

Christensen helped lead a winless Central Regional (0-3) entering the WOBM Christmas Classic and win three straight games to become the champions of the Kathy Snyder Bracket. The soccer sectional-champion averaged 8.6 points per game, 14 rebounds per game and 6 steals per game during the tournament.

In the opening round against the No. 10 seed Donovan Catholic, Christensen was all over the floor and scored 8 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and had 8 steals in the 37-32 victory. Christensen would take her game to an even higher level in the semifinals against Lacey. She scored 9 points and grabbed a career-high 22 rebounds and had 8 steals in the 35-33 overtime victory. In overtime she scored 2 of Central’s three points to give them the win.

In the championship game she scored 9 points and grabbed 8 rebounds and had 2 steals in the 48-36 victory over Toms River South. Christensen was named Tournament Most Valuable Player in the Kathy Snyder Bracket for her performance.
