Bill Furlong has resigned as the head football coach at Manchester Township High School after six seasons, Shore Sports Network has learned.

Manchester went 15-45 over the last six seasons, including 2-8 this past season.

Furlong, who played for Jackson Memorial in the early 1980s and then at Ursinus College, came to Manchester in 2014 from Phoenixville High School in Pennsylvania where he went 70-63 in 11 years. He was also the head coach at Burlington Township for six seasons before going to Phoenixville.

Furlong is the second Shore Conference football coach to resign this month after Joe Martucci stepped down at St. John Vianney following the season.
