This week’s “Turning Point of the Game”:

With under a minute to go in the first half, the visiting Neptune Scarlet Fliers lined up to go for a 4th and 22 in Toms River South territory. After taking an early 6-0 lead, the Indians found themselves down 27-13 but were aiming for a big defensive stop to gain some momentum heading into halftime. Neptune, meanwhile, was looking to keep the pressure on and firmly take control of the Freedom Division clash. Neptune came out in a four wide receiver set with junior quarterback Nino Bua in the shotgun. Sensing pressure from the left side after the snap, Bua took a few steps up in the pocket and lofted a deep pass down the right sideline. The QB was able to find senior WR Willie Gross (who had lined up in the slot) for the latter's fourth TD of the half. Neptune took a commanding 33-13 lead and managed to come out with their third victory of the season, downing the Indians 36-28. For their efforts, Bua and Gross will each receive a gift card from Turning Point breakfast, brunch, and lunch.

Be sure and look every week for “The Turning Point of the Game.
