American Division

Shore 12, Southern 11 (OT)

Senior Carson Spallone delivered the game-winning goal in overtime to thwart Southern's comeback attempt as the Blue Devils (3-1, 2-1) won their second straight OT thriller.

Spallone finished with three goals and two assists and sophomore Reid Spallone totaled two goals and two assists. Junior Lukas Villa also scored twice and Brady Cooke had a goal and an assist. Lucas White, Rucker Malfa, Braden Miller each scored once and junior FOGO Brendan O'Brien won 14 of 27 at the X and also scored a goal. Senior goalie Noah Karaban made eight saves.

Shore led 7-1 in the second quarter before the Rams (3-3, 0-3) mounted their comeback, outscoring Shore 6-1 in the fourth quarter to force overtime. Liam Griffin recorded a hat trick and Anthony Arch had two goals and three assists. Kyle Sininsky scored twice, Konnor Forlai had a goal and two assists, Cash McVey had a goal and an assist, and Shea O'Donnell and Joe Kessler each scored once. AJ Mattern (7 saves) and Nick Hughes (6) saves) split time in goal.

 

Holmdel 12, Red Bank 7

Sophomore midfielder Jack Cannon tallied three goals and a career-high four assists to power the Hornets (4-1, 1-1) to a divisional victory over the Bucs (2-3, 0-3).

Senior midfielder Will Gilfillan and junior attackman Brian Volpe each had three goals and one assist while junior FOGO Jack Powers won 17 of 23 face-offs. Senior midfielder Greg Linsalata had a goal and an assist and sophomore attackman sophomore attackman Finn Buchan and senior midfielder Gary Collyer had one goal apiece. Sophomore goalie Jack Tiller made three saves.

Senior Finn Tierney had two goals and two assists and senior midfielder Andrew Pape had a goal and three assists to lead Red Bank. Sophomore midfielder Ryan Deverin scored twice, junior Lucas Fels scored once, and senior goalie Kyle Borenius made seven saves.

 

Colonial Division

Jackson Memorial 14, Howell 6

Senior midfielder Elias Craig scored a career-high eight goals and tied a career-high with nine points to lead the Jaguars (4-1, 2-0) past the Rebels (2-3, 0-3).

Craig had seven goals and nine points in a win over Toms River East last season.

Sophomore Joseph Muzzillo had a career-best six assists while senior attackman Drew Barocas poured in three goals and one assist, senior midfielder Zach O'Connell won 18 of 24 face-offs, and senior goalie Russell Cender made 16 saves. Sophomore LSM Elijah Coffman had a goal and an assist and picked up nine ground balls, junior David Walter also had a goal and an assist, and sophomore Giancarlo Portuesi scored his first varsity goal.

Senior attackman Jon Peal Pepe and junior midfielder Nick Turturro each scored three goals and junior goalie Adam Baker made 12 saves to lead Howell.

 

Red Bank Catholic 8, Point Boro 7

Senior attackman Jackson Lu fired in four goals and senior goalie Gianvito Viola made 15 saves as the Caseys (4-2, 2-1) won a back-and-forth battle with the Panthers (2-2, 0-2).

Freshman midfielder Joe Egan scored twice, sophomore midfielder Frank Tackett had a goal and an assist, and senior Brian Vecchio went 15-for-19 on face-offs and scored a goal. Senior defenseman Connor Harms picked up a game-high 12 ground balls and assisted on a goal.

Junior attackman Brady Kirk had two goals and four assists and senior goalie Colin Cole made 12 saves to lead Point Boro. Senior midfielders Gavin Reid and Greyson Ritter each scored twice and senior midfielder Matt Woit had a goal and an assist.

 

Constitution Division

Ocean 11, Colts Neck 3

Senior midfielder Ben Girard sank five goals and dished out two assists and sophomore goalie River Pinto made 13 saves to lead the Spartans (4-2, 3-0) to a key divisional victory over the Cougars (2-2, 2-1).

Sophomore attackmen Connor Holevinski and Jack Varley each scored twice, junior attackman Vincent Stolowski had a goal and two assists, and sophomore attackman Ryan Smyth scored once. Sophomore James Knight won 11 of 14 face-offs and senior defenseman Willie Canavan picked up a game-high 13 ground balls.

Senior Brent Dethomasis had a goal and an assist to lead Colts Neck. Senior Luke Ferraro and junior Tyler Bowden had one goal apiece and senior goalie Aaron Nasimov made 11 saves.

 

Middletown North 9, Freehold Township 1

Senior midfielder Hayden Mattos recorded a hat trick, senior midfielder Tim Cherney dished out five assists, and junior goalie Mario Lorenson made 12 saves to steer the Lions (3-0, 3-0) past the Patriots (2-3, 1-2) for their first 3-0 start since 2016.

Freshman midfielder Noah Fleming tallied two goals and one assist, freshman Christian Balletto had a goal and an assist, and juniors Keaghan Gassler, Graham Kennedy, and Carter Bruan each scored once. Senior Gavin Eremus went 9-for-14 at the face-off X.

 

St. John Vianney 15, Marlboro 6

Senior William Keegan delivered a career-high 11 points on seven goals and four asissts to power the Lancers (2-3, 1-2) to a victory over the Mustangs (2-3, 1-2).

Senior Colin Bradley scored three goals and added two assists, junior Brendan Allen totaled two goals and two assists, junior Blake Hawthorn scored twice, and junior Matt Doherty had a goal and two assists to help pace the offense. Junior Kyle Dimarco and sophomore Max Menkowitz each had two assists with Menkowitz also going 20-for-23 at the face-off X. Sophomore goalies Cameron Esposito and Luciano Formica split time in goal.

Senior attackman Jason Sondak led Marlboro with three goals while sophomore midfielder Mason Trombetta had two goals and one assist and junior attackman Shayne Gallo had a goal and two assists.

 

Freedom Division

Donovan Catholic 16, Toms River South 6

Freshman attackman Gavin Nascimento and junior midfielder Teague Hibbard combined for 19 points to lead the Griffins (3-1, 3-0) to a divisional win over the Indians (0-4, 0-3).

Both have 19 points in their last two games with Nascimento coming off a seven-goal, two-assist performance in a win over Lacey and Hibbard netting eight goals and two assists versus Lacey.

Jake Kerwin added three goals and two assists, senior midfielder Andrew Baltus had a goal and three assists and went 14-for-20 on face-offs, and senior attackman Jack Farlekas tallied two goals and one assist. Sophomore goalie Jack Barone made seven saves.

Senior Dennis Forbes had two goals and one assist, senior Nicholas Romaine scored twice, and juniors Nolen Mahoney and Ben Hartzfeld had a goal and an assist each for Toms River South. Sophomore Steve Lindemann picked up a game-high 12 ground balls.
