Every week this season, Shore Conference lacrosse fans will have their chance to vote for the Orthopaedic Institute of Central Jersey/Shore Sports Network Boys Lacrosse Player of the Week on our website.

The Week 7 winner as selected by the readers is Christian Brothers Academy senior midfielder Luke Valentino, who scored seven goals in two games to lift the Colts to a huge nonconference win and also help them advance in the state playoffs.

In a game against fellow state-ranked opponent and Non-Public B favorite Pingry, Valentino scored four times, including the go-ahead goal with four seconds left in regulation, to give CBA a thrilling 9-8 comeback victory. In the first round of the NJSIAA Non-Public A state tournament, Valentino scored three goals in the Colts' 16-4 victory over Paul VI.

This week Valentino scored twice when CBA defeated St. Peter's Prep, 11-7, to advance to the state semifinals for the first time since 2008.

Valentino is part of a deep CBA offense and is third on the team with 35 goals and also third in points with 50.

CBA (19-1) will try to reach the Non-Public A final for the first time since 2007 when it travels to West Orange to face Seton Hall Prep on Friday at 1 p.m.

Valentino won this week's vote by a razor-thin margin, besting Rumson-Fair Haven's Wyatt Feinberg by only one vote.

This is the final Player of the Week poll of the season. Congratulations to all our winners, who can be viewed below in the archive.
