Every week this season, Shore Conference lacrosse fans will have their chance to vote for the Orthopaedic Institute of Central Jersey/Shore Sports Network Boys Lacrosse Player of the Week on our website.

The Week 1 winner as selected by the readers is Holmdel junior goalie Nick Tuccillo, who in four games to open the season posted a sparkling .724 save percentage and a 4.0 goals against average.

Tuccillo started the season by making 11 saves in a 6-4 victory over South Brunswick and followed that up with a 14-save performance in a narrow 6-5 overtime loss to Southern, which was ranked No. 4 in the Shore at the time. Holmdel then fell to Toms River North but Tuccillo was solid again with eight saves and just four goals allowed. In a victory over Middletown North, Tuccillo made nine saves and yielded just two goals.

Tuccillo was under the radar as a sophomore but quietly had a very good season with a .613 save percentage and 154 saves, and he has emerged as one of the Shore's top goalies this season.

Tuccillo pulled in nearly 40 percent of the votes cast while CBA's Luke Valentino was second with 15.5 percent and Middletown South's Connor Ard was third with 10.5 percent of the votes.
