Every week this season, Shore Conference lacrosse fans will have their chance to vote for the Orthopaedic Institute of Central Jersey/Shore Sports Network Boys Lacrosse Player of the Week on our website.

The Week 4 winner as selected by the readers is Jackson Liberty senior midfielder Max Matthies, who had 11 goals and three assists in three games to reach a career milestone and continue his career-best season.

Matthies tallied one goal and one assist in a loss to Lacey and scored two goals with one assist in a one-goal defeat at the hands of St. Rose, but it was his performance against Donovan Catholic that defined his week. Against the Griffins, Matthies poured in a career-high eight goals while adding one assist for a career-high nine points to lead Liberty to the win. The nine points also put him over the 100-point plateau for his career.

Matthes has set career-highs in goals (34) and points (42) this season to lead the way for the Lions' offense. He also has 41 ground balls. For his career, Matthies has 87 goals and 20 assists for 107 points, plus 163 ground balls.

The Jackson Liberty fans came out and supported Matthies to the tune of 35.75 percent of the votes.
