Shore Sports Network Players of the Week
Class A North
Gaby Parker; JR. Freehold Township - Parker has taken over the goal-scoring roll for Freehold Township since senior Hailey Santiago’s injury. Last week, Parker scored five goals against two Class A North teams. She scored a hat trick against top 10 team Howell in a 4-0 victory for the Patriots. She followed that with two goals and an assist against St. John Vianney in another 4-0 victory for Freehold Township.
Class A Central
Katie Walls; SR. Rumson-Fair Haven - Rumson has been one of the hottest teams in the Shore Conference, climbing up the rankings to No. 11 this week and Katie Walls is a big reason why. Last week, she posted three wins with back-to-back shutouts against two ranked teams. Against Trinity Hall, she helped Rumson clinch first place in SCT Group 9 in a 1-0 victory. Saturday, she posted a shutout in 99 minutes of action against No. 9 Jackson Memorial in a 1-0 win.
Class A South
Peyton Gallagher; SR. Toms River East - Gallagher was involved with every goal for Toms River East last week, either scoring or making the assist. Early in the week, TRE defeated crosstown rival Toms River South, 2-1. Gallagher had both assists in that game, with Samantha Sosnicki scoring the game-winner off her pass. Against Southern, Gallagher scored all four goals for the Indians, two in each half for the 4-1 win.
Class B North
Jordyn Hollawell SO. Manasquan - Hollawell had three goals and four assists last week for Manasquan. Early in the week, she scored the game-winner and her first of two goals against Ranney to help the Warriors clinch a spot in the SCT. She followed that by scoring one goal and assisting on four others to keep Manasquan undefeated in Class B North.
Class B Central
Adriana Ramirez; FR. Long Branch - The freshman from Long Branch had a breakout week for the Green Wave. Long Branch came close to upsetting St. Rose with Ramirez scoring her first career hat trick in the game. Long Branch ended up losing the game in overtime, 6-5. Ramirez followed that game with two goals against Asbury Park, giving Long Branch their first win of the season.
Class B South
Grace Oliver; SR. Donovan Catholic - Oliver not only had a great week for Donovan Catholic by anchoring the defense, she also scored the game winner against Pinelands in the second half and had an assist in the first half. Earlier in the week, she helped control the defense for Donovan Catholic’s first shutout of the season against Barnegat in a 1-0 victory.
Wild Cards
Ava Agresti; SR. Shore Regional - Agresti had a remarkable game against Brick Township, scoring five goals to help Shore Regional clinch a spot in the SCT, which they missed out on last season. Ava scored two goals in the first half and three in the second half in the 7-3 victory. Agresti’s shots were each perfectly placed in the upper 90, making it hard for any goalie to save.
Giselle Lizardi; JR. Brick Memorial - Even though Brick Memorial did not get the result they wanted against Central Regional, Lizardi was the reason it was a one-goal game. Lizardi made several diving saves, including a one-on-one save on a breakaway against one of the leading scorers in the Shore Conference, Emma Harmon. The Mustangs bounced back the next game and Lizardi posted her fifth shutout of the season against No. 9 Jackson Memorial.
