Middletown North 8, St. John Vianney 6

Zach Hampton lifted fellow junior Gabe Ahlemeyer off the hook with a game-tying sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth and Ahlemeyer completed the comeback with a two-run double one batter later as the Lions rallied for a win over the Lancers.

Both Hampton and Ahlemeyer drove in a run apiece in a three-run fifth inning as well, which cut St. John Vianney's lead from 6-2 to 6-5.

No. 13 Donovan Catholic 6, No. 6 Red Bank Catholic 5 (8 Innings)

Tyler Levine hit a go-ahead two-run triple in the top of the eighth inning and Mike Santise threw out the potential tying run at home plate for the final out of the game, giving the Griffins an extra-inning win over the Caseys.

With two out in the bottom of the eighth, A.J. Sciametta hit a single into shallow leftfield to score a run and RBC attempted to make it two when sophomore Jake Frankel got the green light to attempt to score from second base. Santise got the throw in to the plate and catcher Ryder Simpson applied the tag for the final out.

Sciametta's hit was nearly the second game-tying hit by RBC in a potential final at-bat. Max Dantoni led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a game-tying solo home run and ended the game in the on-deck circle.

Donovan Catholic took a 4-3 lead on a two-run single by Simpson in the top of the fourth inning.

Evan Booth hit a tie-breaking RBI single in the top of the eighth inning to make a winner out of Collin Denton, who pitched beyond the seventh inning in his second straight start -- this time leading the Falcons to an extra-inning win over the Bengals. No. 5 Wall 2, No. 14 St. Rose 1

John Catanio pitched 6 1/3 strong innings, doubled and scored the first of two Wall runs -- enough to outduel St. Rose ace Jack Tiernan and carry the Crimson Knights to a win over the Purple Roses.

Wall took the lead on a sacrifice fly by Mike Horowitz in the top of the sixth inning, which started with a hit-by-pitch followed by a single by Jon Cofone -- just the second of two hits by the Crimson Knights off Tiernan in seven innings.

St. Rose threatened in the bottom of the seventh, with James Doster hitting a leadoff single and advancing to second base on a sacrifce bunt by Tiernan. Nick Plevier took over for Catanio after the bunt and after walking the go-ahead run, the sophomore left-hander closed out the game with a strikeout and a pop-out.
