Class A North
No. 2 CBA 7, No. 3 Middletown South 2
Danny Tsimbinos doubled twice and drove in two runs while Jack Dufficy knocked in a run before pitching two shutout innings on the back-end of a Colts win over the Eagles that clinches CBA a piece of the Class A North championship along with both Middletown South and Colts Neck.
Tsimbinos hit a sacrifice fly to give CBA a 2-0 lead in the top of the third and Dufficy added an RBI single to make it 3-0 before the end of the frame. Will Fahey opened the scoring with an RBI single -- the first of his three hits in the game.
Tsimbinos hit a double to the fence in left-center to start a two-run rally in the fifth that stretched the CBA lead to 5-2. The junior catcher followed that with an opposite-field RBI double to make it 6-2 in the top of the sixth.
CBA used five pitchers to get through Thursday's game and Dufficy's sixth inning, in which he struck out the side on 13 pitches -- was the standout performance of the group. Kyle Welsh, meanwhile, picked up his first win in relief of sophomore starter Danny DiTullio.

No. 16 Colts Neck 4, No. 13 Marlboro 3
Three Marlboro players hit RBI singles over the course of the second and third innings and Casey Gardiner added an RBI double in the fourth -- an early offensive flurry that proved to be enough for the Cougars to top the Mustangs and win a share of the Class A North championship along with both CBA and Middletown South.
The division co-title is the second for Colts Neck in the last four seasons, with the Cougars sharing Class B North with Wall in 2021. Colts Neck's last Class A North championship came in 2014.
Joe Pignatelli tied the game, 1-1, with an RBI single in the top of the second inning and Ronan Kiely and winning pitcher Tom Diffley combined on back-to-back RBI singles to give the Cougars the 3-1 lead in the top of the third.
Paul Santos and Joe Santos hit back-to-back RBI singles with none out in the bottom of the fifth as part of a serious Marlboro threat. Diffley got out of a first-and-third, no-out jam, starting with catcher Matt Clark catching Joe Santos steals second base. Diffley then snag a come-backer to the mound and groundball and cut down Paul Santos at the plate for the second out. Marlboro again loaded the bases, but Diffley ended the threat with a strikeout.
Tosh Mancini worked into and out of a bases-loaded jam in the sixth and followed that up with a clean seventh inning to nail down the save.

Middletown North 6, JFK Iselin 3 (9 Innings)
Zach Hampton pitched the four innings of near-perfect relief and hit the tie-breaking RBI single in the top of the ninth inning to lead the Lions (9-10) to an extra-inning win over the Mustangs (8-10) on the road.
Hampton struck out six while improving to 4-2 on the season and the lone baserunner he allowed reached on an error. Prior to Hampton taking over, Ryan Clark pitched five innings and struck out seven.
Dylan Briggs drew his third walk of the day to lead off the ninth and stole second base to set the stage for Hampton, who knocked in his fellow senior with his second RBI single of the game. Later in the inning, Aldo Casale dropped down a suicide squeeze bunt to make it 5-3 and Mike Hallard capped the scoring with an RBI single.
Hampton, Hallard and Alipio Figueroa each went 2-for-5, with Figueroa also driving in a run with an RBI single in the top of the fifth to stretch the Middletown North lead to 3-1.
