Junior quarterback Dom Beninato completed 7 of 10 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown and No. 7 Colts Neck posted its first shutout of the season, defeating host Wall, 17-0 in a Shore Conference nondivisional game on Friday night, to push their winning streak to six consecutive games.

Senior Sal Marinello caught a 28-yard touchdown pass, junior running back Chris Scully ran for a touchdown, and junior Aidan Manasso kicked a 20-yard field goal. Wall did a good job bottling up Scully, who ran for just 67 yards on 21 carries for his first sub-100-yard game of the season, but he was still able to find the end zone for his 14th touchdown of the season. Scully has rushed for 1,128 yards on an average of 6.7 yards per carry this season.

Junior defensive end Eric Loueiro recorded eight tackles, three tackles for loss, a fumble recovery, and two pass deflections and senior linebacker Will Surdez had nine tackles, one sack, and one tackle for loss to lead the way on defense. Senior defensive back Jack Tormey added two tackles for loss, sophomore linebacker James Bergan and senior linebacker Eoin Fitzpatrick each made eight tackles, and senior defensive back Matt Celli intercepted a pass.

After a season-opening 28-21 loss to No. 10 St. John Vianney, Colts Neck has strung together victories over Freehold Boro, No. 8 Jackson Memorial, Freehold Township, Lacey, Howell, and Wall to improve to 6-0 and clinch at least a share of the Constitution Division title. The Cougars can clinch the title outright with an unbeaten division mark if they can defeat district rival Marlboro this coming Saturday.
