St. John Vianney solidified its ranking as the top team in the shore and state with a convincing 31-point victory over previously undefeated and second ranked Red Bank Catholic on Saturday.  While the Caseys were without junior standout Justine Pissott (Covid-19 protocols) the Lady Lancers left little doubt they are a special bunch and if will take a superb effort for someone, anyone to know them off.

Making their case as a team to reckoned with in the home stretch of the season is Marlboro which quietly is undefeated with their latest victory over Saddle River Day, who was ranked 4th in New Jersey at the time.  Sophomore Erica DiSimone exploded for a career-high 26 points and junior Sammy Jay added 23 for the Mustangs who have moved up to #6 in the Shore Sports Network Top 10.  That is one of several moves in this week's rankings and more could be coming following this week's schedule.

6. Marlboro (8-0)  Last week: 7

Mustangs are surging and games with Rumson and St. John Vianney this week could further enhance their resume for a high seed in whatever they are calling the end of season pod that will feature the top 8.
