Nonconference

Roxbury 8, No. 7 Holmdel 5

Senior attackmen Mark Scherzer and Joe Tages each fired in two goals with one assist, and junior goalie Justin Ruiz made 20 saves in a nonconference loss to the undefeated Gaels (7-0). Holmdel fell to 2-3.

Middletown North 8, Edison 7

Sophomore attackman Bryan Flannigan pumped in four goals and junior attackman Justin Russo struck three times to help the Lions (1-5) top Edison and record their first varsity win in program history. Junior midfielder Chris Fisher also scored for Middletown North, and junior goalie Kevin Powers made eight saves to preserve the victory.
