Monmouth County Week 2 Player of the Week Presented by Savvy Fit Soaps

Christina Liggio, Red Bank Catholic

Liggio played in the Viking Invitational with the Caseys, where they went 2-0 and were named the champions. During the tournament, Liggio performed on both sides of the floor and was named Most Valuable Player in the event, averaging 13.5 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game, 3 assists per game and 2.5 steals per game. 

In the opening game she filled every category with 13 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. In Red Bank Catholic’s second win she had 14 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals against Archbishop Wood (PA), who is ranked No. 3 in Pennsylvania. Liggio showed she is one of the most consistent shooters in the Shore Conference, going 7 for 7 from the foul-line in the event. 

The Caseys were handed their first defeat of the season against Westtown, who is the No. 1 team in Pennsylvania, in the Jordan Brand Event at Baruch College to end the holiday break. In the game Liggio connected on three 3-pointers for 9 points.
