Shore Sports Network Girls Basketball 2023-24 Player of the Year

Devyn Quigley; Manchester

For the second year in a row the Shore Sports Network Player of the Year will play her college basketball at NC State. Senior Devyn Quigley will be joining the SSN 2022-2023 Player of the Year Zoe Brooks in September down in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Quigley has had an amazing career at Manchester, but no one could predict how her last two seasons would be record setting. After scoring 977 points as a junior, Quigley needed 910 points in her final season to become the all-time leading scorer in girls basketball for the Shore Conference.

She would break Kelly Hughes’s record of 2,588 on 02/21/24 against Overbook in the South Jersey Group II opening round match-up. Quigley scored exactly 35 points in that game to surpass Hughes, who has held the record since graduating Point Boro High School in 2013, to give her 2,589 points.

Earlier in the season, Quigley reached the 2,000 point milestone and tied former teammate Destiny Adams with 2,010 points after scoring 38 points against Jackson Memorial. She also grabbed 24 rebounds in that game, giving her 1 of her 18 double-doubles on the season.

Quigley averaged 32.7 PPG and 10.4 RPG on the season. She scored 50 points three times this season with a career-high 58 points against Ranney in a comeback victory for Manchester in the Coaches vs Cancer Showcase at Donovan Catholic.

As good as she was on the offensive end of the floor, she worked just as hard on the defensive end of the floor. She finished the season 114 steals, which was just under 4 steals per game on the season. Her ability to get her hands in the passing lanes and poking the ball away from defenders led to easy points for Manchester throughout the season.

“Devyn is the consummate leader on and off the court and has positively impacted her teammates growth throughout the last two seasons with her presence and work ethic,” said Manchester coach Dave Beauchemin.  “Her ability and knowledge of the game put us in a position to win everyday and what she brought to the table is irreplaceable. The sky's the limit for her future”
