Girls Basketball – Savvy Fit Soaps Week 1 Monmouth County Player of the Week: Ella Mason

The Basketball Player of the Week has been a staple of Shore Sports Network's coverage over the years and we have always left it up to the fans to decide the winner -- and still do. Now, SSN is recognizing its own choices for Player of the Week, not just in the Shore Conference, but in Monmouth and Ocean Counties individually.

Monmouth County Week 1 Player of the Week Presented by Savvy Fit Soaps

Ella Mason, Rumson-Fair Haven

Mason started the season off with a bang, knocking down 12 3-pointers and averaging 15.3 points per game in Rumson’s first three games of the season.

In the opening night of the season she set a career-high seven 3-pointers and finished with a career-high 21 points in a 43-42 victory over Union City. Mason did not just put on a shooting clinic, she did everything Rumson needed her to do to win. She finished with 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals in the game.

Mason followed that game with another good performance against state-ranked Chatham. She converted three 3-pointers and finished with 13 points to help Rumson start the season 2-0 and hand the No. 14 team in New Jersey their only defeat of the season.

Against No. 5 Trinity Hall, Mason hit two 3-pointers and was a perfect 4 for 4 from the foul-line to finish with 12 points.
