This week’s “Turning Point of the Game”:

Already in possession of a 10-0 lead over rival Toms River South, Toms River North wanted to keep up the attack as the second quarter began. On a 2nd and 5 at the Indians 27 yard line, junior QB Jake Kazanowsky lined up in the shotgun with two receivers split out to the left. Kazanowsky immediately rolled out to the left and, seeing the match-up he wanted, lofted a pass towards the left side of the endzone. Kazanowsky was able to connect with fellow junior Zac Browne, who made arguably one of the best catches of the season; the receiver managed to haul in the pass with one hand while sliding down into the turf. The touchdown reception and ensuing extra point fired up the TRN sideline and gave the home team a 17-0 lead. The Mariners would go on to win the annual 'Civil War' contest by a score of 44-7. For their efforts, Kazanowsky and Browne will each receive a gift card from Turning Point breakfast, brunch, and lunch.
Be sure and look every week for “The Turning Point of the Game.
