Cano posted a goal and an assist in a 10-0 win over Asbury Park and scored a goal each in wins over Manchester, Shore and Mater Dei Prep. The sophomore also assisted the lone Monmouth goal in a 1-1 draw with Manasquan.

Cano dominated the voting for Weeks 2 and 3, nearly quadrupling the vote total of winner No. 2. Which brings us to...

R.J. Eckelman, Howell

On back-to-back days, Eckelman assisted a goal in a 2-1 loss to Manalapan, then posted a hat trick in a 4-0 win against Middletown North -- the latter of which gave Howell its first win of 2021 after opening the season with tough losses to Top 10 teams Marlboro and the aforementioned Braves.

The race for the second Player of the Week spot was much tighter, with Eckelman's 11 percent topping Ocean senior Aidan Tisony's 7.9 percent.
