CLASS A NORTH

Howell 14, Marlboro 1

Junior attackman Ryan Damelio scored five goals and junior attackman Drew Bukowiec had three goals and five assists to power the Rebels (4-2, 1-0) past the Mustangs (1-4, 0-1).

Junior midfielder Nico Lorenzo added a pair of goals and sophomore goalie Nick Roberto made 10 saves. Junior defenseman Jack Noone and junior midfielder Joe Masino each scored their first career goals.

Senior midfielder Connor Leahy scored for Marlboro and junior goalie Anthony Martino made 16 saves.

 

 

NONDIVISIONAL

No. 5 Ocean 19, Middletown North 7

The senior trio of Joey Appio, Erik Rant and Connor Daly combined for 28 points to lead the undefeated Spartans (6-0) past the Lions (3-2).

Appio scored four goals and had six assists while Rant scored a game-high six goals with three assists. Daly had five goals and three assists as the three combined for 38 shots. Junior Sam Hanna added three goals and one assist. Sophomore Richie Bianchi picked up a game-high 10 ground balls and junior goalie David Walk made 16 saves.

Senior Ryan Aker scored twice and senior Bryan Flannigan had a goal and three assists for Middletown North. Junior goalie Anthony Manfredi made seven saves.

 

No. 7 Freehold Township 12, Shore 11 (3OT)

Junior midfielder Mile Colicchia's goal in the third overtime period saved the Patriots (2-2) in a thrilling battle after a big rally by the Blue Devils (3-2).

Freehold Township held an 8-5 lead heading into the fourth quarter, but Shore sank six goals in the final regulation period to send the game into overtime.

Junior midfielder Mike Ferdinandi led all scorers with five goals and one assist, while Colicchia netted three goals and junior attackman Josh Nastarowicz scored twice. Junior attackman Drew Dunn finished with a goal and three assists, senior attackman Matt Lach had a goal and an assist and sophomore goalie Billy Patten made seven saves.

Senior midfielder Doug Goldsmith scored four times and assisted on another, and freshman Gil Goldsmith scored twice with three assists. Freshman midfielder Jack McCrae added a goal and two assists and sophomore attackman Ryan Morris had a goal and and an assist.

 

Lacey 10, No. 8 Jackson Liberty 8

Junior midfielder Connor Wilson scored four goals and added one assist, and freshman Dylan Vitale also scored four times as Lacey (3-1) bounced back with a victory over Liberty (3-3).

Senior midfielder Ryan Mahon added two goals and one assist and senior goalie Mike Trezza was outstanding in making 20 saves.

Senior attackman Tyler Kalmowitz had a game-high eight points with four goals and four assists, while senior midfielder Christian Pongracz had a goal and two assists for Jackson Liberty. Senior goalie Chris Mulholland made 10 saves

 

No. 10 St. John Vianney 13, Brick 2

Junior midfielder Ryan Gilfillan scored three goals and also had three assists to lead the way for the Lancers (3-2) in a convincing win over the Dragons (1-3).

Junior midfielder Tino D'Amore also scored three times for St. John Vianney while junior attackman Andrew Porretta and senior midfielder Tom Hanson each had two goals and one assist. Senior defenseman Mike Stapert got in on the scoring with two assists and senior goalie D.J. Soriano made nine saves.

Anthony DiCristina scored both goals for Brick.

 

Brick Memorial 17, St. Rose 5

Senior attackman Billy Porter tallied six goals and added one assist, and junior attackman Gavin Murphy fired in three goals while dishing out five assists as the Mustangs (5-0) remained undefeated by downing the Purple Roses (1-1).

Junior midfielder Zack Morton scored twice and also had three assists, senior attackman Trevor Courtwright had a hat trick and junior midfielder Mike Mowder had two goals and one assist. Senior goalie Chris Sayers made 10 saves.

 

Barnegat 11, Toms River East 6

Senior midfielder Joe Jinks netted four goals with two assists and senior midfielder J.J. McKenna scored three times as the Bengals (1-3) topped the Raiders (0-4) to pick up their first win of the season.

Senior attackman Ryan Reynolds had two goals and two assists and senior attackman Tristan Potts had a goal and three assists. Junior goalie Kyle Kessinger made 13 saves.

 

Red Bank 11, Colts Neck 9

Senior midfielder Ryan Gilmartin scored a game-high five goals and senior goalie Jon Pierce made 21 saves to lead the Bucs (3-3) past the Cougars (1-4).

Senior midfielder Brian Fagan finished with two goals and two assists and senior attackman Cole Smolokoff had two goals and one assist. Senior Jon Doherty and junior Tyler Wark also scored for Red Bank.

Senior midfielder Jack Schaefer scored four goals for Colts Neck while sophomore attackman Nick Lago and junior attackman Vinnie Gargiulo each contributed two goals and one assist.

 

NONCONFERENCE

Neptune 15, Ewing 7

 

Robbinsville 13, Holmdel 1

Frank Entwistle had the only goal for the Hornets (0-5).
