Week 9 Orthopaedic Institute of Central Jersey Player of the Week
Ryan Flanagan, Manasquan
Manasquan's senior point guard began the season by showing off his improved offensive game and has not stopped for a Warriors team on the cusp of a 20-win season.
Last week, the Warriors reached the SCT quarterfinals for the seventh straight year and Flanagan led the team in scoring in its last two tournament games. He poured in 24 points to go with five assists to help Manasquan put up triple-digits in a 100-72 win over Asbury Park in the opening round, then scored a team-high 23 points to lead the Warriors past Marlboro in the round of 16.
Flanagan also dropped a team-high 14 points and added four assists in a 46-43 loss to Mater Dei on Sunday.
Flanagan lapped the field in this week's Player of the Week voting, rounding up more than 50 percent of the more than 5,800 votes cast. His winning total beat out runner-up Scottie Lewis of Ranney, who came in at just under 30 percent.
