Will Surdez, Colts Neck

Last week was a breakout stretch for the Cougars freshman, who scored a career-best 18 points in a tight, 40-35 loss to B North co-leader Matawan on Tuesday. Surdez then gave Colts Neck its first division win by converting the game-winning putback with three seconds left in a 47-45 win over Middletown North on Friday.

Surdez won the award with more than 40 percent of the vote, with Middletown South senior Bobby Pirie (25 percent) and Toms River North senior Najae Hallenbeck (12) taking second and third, respectively. Surdez will receive a $25 gift card to Surf Taco for winning the second Player of the Week poll of 2020.
