It is one of the most talked-about regular season meetings in recent years as Friday at “The Swamp” the top two ranked teams in the T&T Coast Top Ten will collide head on for the bragging rights of the Shore Conference…at least for this week when Toms River North visits Middletown South. The game will be broadcast on the Shore Sports Networks 1160 & 1310AM and will stream live at www.shoresportsnetwork.com with Kevin Williams, Chris Barnes and Ed Sarluca calling the action.

There have been top two matchups in the past but rarely pitting the best team from Monmouth County against one from Ocean County. Middletown South has won 17 in-a-row including their 10th state sectional title last December. Coached by Steve Antonucci the Eagles have been the shore’s model program during his 19 year tenure. Toms River North has won 16 straight and they too captured a sectional title in December, their 6th overall and first under coach Dave Oizerowitz.

The Mariners feature one of the most dynamic offenses the shore has seen in years, averaging nearly 50 points per game. While Middletown South has had a couple of close calls this fall they have played a tougher schedule and could be a bit more battle-tested coming into this game. They are also coming off their bye week and have had two weeks to prepare for North.

The Shore Sports Network will have complete coverage of the game all week.
