Three of the Shore Conference's top offensive linemen, Rumson-Fair Haven senior Peter Righi, Red Bank Catholic senior Tim O'Hara and Colts Neck senior Ryan Wetzel, are headed to a pair of Football Championship Sub-division programs.
Righi verbally committed to Monmouth University last week, while O'Hara verbally committed to Lehigh University on Monday night and Wetzel joined Righi among the Monmouth University recruiting class with a verbal commitment on Monday.
The 6-foot-3, 285-pound Righi was the leader on an offensive line that paved the way for the Shore Conference's leading rusher, junior Charlie Volker, who had a school-record 2,107 yards and 24 touchdowns as the Bulldogs won a school-record 11 games and captured the Central Jersey Group II title.
O'Hara was a leader on the best offensive line in the Shore Conference for the top-ranked Caseys and joins fellow senior Quenton Nelson, a Notre Dame recruit, as a scholarship senior from that unit. The 6-foot-5, 270-pound senior helped pave the way for an RBC offense that averaged 350 yards and 43.5 points per game and scored a school-record 479 points. The Caseys featured senior tailback Larry Redaelli, who ran for 1,660 yards and a Shore Conference-high 29 touchdowns.
Wetzel was the top lineman on a Colts Neck team that reached the Central Jersey Group IV final, its first sectional final in program history, while also winning a school-record 10 games. He helped pave the way for 1,600-yard rusher Anthony Gargiulo.
O'Hara and Righi have been selected to the Class A Central All-Division team by the coaches, and Wetzel is an All-Class A North selection.
