Toms River North 10, St. Rose 6

Junior midfielder Robert Wingender scored a career-high four goals and added one assist and junior midfielder Ben Misa scored twice and assisted on three other goals to lead the Mariners (1-3, 1-2) ) past the Purple Roses (0-4, 0-2) for their first win of the season.

Sophomore goalie James Mauti made 13 saves to earn his first varsity win. Junior midfielder Cooper Lachowicz added two goals and one assist, senior attackman Anthony Sperato scored twice, and junior midfielder Anthony Montalban delivered two assists.

Senior Ben Meyer had two goals and three assists to lead St. Rose. Senior Jack Harmon and freshman Nick Pirone each scored twice while juniors Noah Arena (10 saves) and Nick Garcia (1 save) split time in goal.

 

Nondivisional

Freehold Township 7, Brick Memorial 5

Senior attackman Nolan Thompson registered two goals and one assist, junior Brenden Carfagno scored twice, and sophomore goalie Josh Lubin. made nine saves to lead the Patriots (3-3) past the Mustangs (2-4).

Senior midfielders Nick Carnevale and Conor Monro each added a goal and an assist, sophomore Dom Fiore scored his first varsity goal, and junior Braeden Larkin won 11 of 16 face-offs.

Junior attackman Austin Edwards and sophomore attackman Jack Deufemia each scored twice and junior goalie Matt Hillin made 12 saves to lead Brick Memorial. Sophomore attackman Nick Correia scored once and sophomore midfielder Shane Trautweiler dished out a career-high three assists.

 

Holmdel 13, Red Bank Catholic 2

Sophomore attackman Finn Buchan sank four goals and added one assist and sophomore midfielder Jack Cannon tallied three goals and two assists to power the Hornets (5-1) to a victory over the Caseys (4-3).

Senior midfielder Gary Collyer had two goals and one assist, junior attackman Brian Volpe scored twice, and senior midfielder Will Gilfillan sent out four assists. Senior defenseman Matt Tempone added a goal and two assists, senior midfielder Greg Linsalata scored o nce, and junior FOGO Jack Powers won 19 of 20 face-offs. Sophomore goalie Jack Tiller made eight saves and senior goalie Casey Dowd made two saves.

Freshman midfielder Joe Egan and freshman attackman Thomas Muniz each scored once while senior Gianvito Viola (9 saves) and junior Julian Littman (2 saves) split time in goal for Red Bank Catholic.

 

Central 7, Neptune 3

Sophomore attackman Jake Agugliaro scored twice and junior goalie Brady Etzkorn made 16 saves to lead the way for the Golden Eagles (2-3) in their win over the Scarlet Fliers (1-3).

Juniors Thomas Rotella and Matthew Abel had a goal and an assist each, freshman Tucker Powderly scored his first varsity goal, juniors Brian Vannote and Evan Sult had one goal apiece, and senior attackman Grant Paczkowski had two assists.

 

Brick at Long Branch, 3:45 p.m.

 

St. John Vianney 18, Donovan Catholic 17

Seniors William Keegan and Colin Gradley and junior Brendan Allen combined for 15 goals and 19 points, and sophomore midfielder Max Menkowitz won 33 of 38 face-offs and tallied two goals and one assist as the Lancers (3-3) won a high-octane barnburner over the Griffins (3-2).

Keegan scored six goals and assisted on another, Allen posted a career-high five goals and two assists, and Bradley delivered a career-best four goals and one assist. Kush Mehta added a goal and two assists and Cameron Esposito made 16 saves.

Freshman attackman Gavin Nascimento and junior midfielder Teague Hibbard continued to lead the way for Donovan Catholic. Nascimento scored six goals and added four assists for his second straight 10-point game while. Hibbard totaled five goals and four assists for the second straight game. Senior attackman Jack Farlekas and senior midfielder Andrew Baltus each notched two goals and one assist, junior attackman Jake Kerwin had a goal and two assists, and sophomore attackman David Wentworth scored once. Sophomore goalie Jack Barone made a career-high 16 saves.

 

Middletown South 14, Jackson Memorial 8

Senior attackman Logan Bailin scored a career-high seven goals and added one assist for a career-best eight points to lead the Eagles (2-1, 2-0) past the Jaguars (4-2, 2-1) for a key divisional victory.

Sophomore Jackson O'Keefe had three goals and one assist, freshman Ryan Colacichi had two goals and two assists, and sophomore Luke Gaffney had a goal and two assists. Senior Jake Sawyer added a goal and an assist and senior defenseman Will Nugent had two assists. Senior goalie Sean Burns made six saves.

 

Manalapan 18, Colts Neck 6

Senior midfielder Marc Stefanelli set career-highs with six goals and eight total points and senior midfielder Dylan Friedman had a career-high three goals and three assists to fuel the Braves (3-1) in their victory over the Cougars (2-3).

Senior attackman Christian Zdziarski posted a hat trick, senior Michael Bonner had a goal and two assists, senior defenseman Aidan Wilmot and freshman Eli Greenberg each scored twice, and freshman Nick Palmieri scored once.

 

Barnegat 11, Ocean 7

 

Point Boro 9, Marlboro 3

Junior attackman Brady Kirk scored four goals and assisted on three others as the Panthers (3-2) defeated the Mustangs (2-4) to snap a two-game skid.

Senior midfielder Gavin Reid and junior midfielder Jason Piemonte each scored twice and senior midfielder Greyson Ritter had a goal and an assist. Freshman midfielder Blake Engelken went 9-for-16 at the face-off X and senior goalie Colin Cole made 10 saves.

 

Middletown North 13, Toms River South 6

Freshman Christian Balletto tallied four goals and one assist, junior Graham Kennedy totaled three goals and one assist, and sophomore Brad Sattan delivered two goals and two assist as the Lions (4-0) topped the Indians (0-5) for the program's best start in over a decade.

Senior Michael Kelly scored his first two varsity goals while junior Keaghan Gassler had a goal and two assists, senior Hayden Mattos had three assists, and freshman Noah Fleming had a goal and an assist. Junior goalie Mario Lorenson made 12 saves to earn the win.

 

Toms River East 15, Lacey 1

Junior midfielder Nate Cummings recorded a career-high nine points on four goals and five assists to lead the way for the Raiders (5-0).

Sophomore attackman Nicholas Caruso tallied four goals and six assists, freshman attackman Gerard Uzzolino had two goals and three assists, senior attackman Patrick Hinkson notched a hat trick, junior midfielder Tyler Godlesky had two goals and one assist, and junior midfielder Ethan Kelly scored once.

Junior attackman Corey Smith scored Lacey's lone goal.

 

Nonconference

Southern 11, Clearview 10

Senior midfielder Anthony Arch poured in four goals and senior attackman Konnor Forlai tallied three goals and one assist as the Rams (4-3) held off the Pioneers (4-2) for a nail-biting out-of-conference victory.

Junior goalie AJ Mattern made 13 saves, junior Liam Griffin delivered two goals and one assist, junior Joe Kessler had a goal and an assist, and freshman Kyle Sininsky scored once. Freshman Cash McVey chipped in with two assists and junior FOGO Collin Markoski won 17 of 25 face-offs.

Southern lead 8-3 at halftime.
