American Division

Manasquan 6, CBA 5

Senior midfielder Brody Muly scored the go-ahead goal with 17.8 seconds left in regulation to lift the Warriors (8-0, 6-0) to a dramatic victory over the Colts (8-4, 4-2) in a sensational back-and-forth game between the longtime rivals.

Manasquan jumped out a 3-0 first-quarter lead on two goals by junior attackman Ryan Aldi and another by sophomore midfielder Jack O'Reilly. CBA rallied to tie the score,  starting with a miraculous goal by senior defenseman Manolis Paragioudakis on a full-field desperation heave at the buzzer to end the first quarter. A pair of goals by senior attackman Ryan Martin in the second quarter tied the score 3-3 heading to halftime.

The seesaw battle continued with Aldi putting Manasquan ahead midway through the third quarter before CBA junior midfielder Davis Campbell scored off an assist from Martin two minutes later. Junior attackman Brandon Kunz put the Warriors ahead 5-4 with 7:27 to play when he finished a pass from Muly in transition, but CBA senior midfielder Cameron D'Alterio answered less than a minute later to knot the score 5-5.

Manasquan senior goalie Nick Bounassi finished with 10 saves.

Martin had two goals and two assists, senior goalie Brandon Desena made eight saves, and freshman FOGO John Little went 12-for-14 at the face-off X.

 

Colonial Division

Toms River East 8, Howell 3

Sophomore attackman Nicholas Caruso totaled three goals and one assist to lead the way for the Raiders (7-2, 4-1) in their bounce-back win over the Rebels (3-7. 0-6).

Senior attackman Patrick Hinkson added a goal and and assist while junior midfielder Nate Cummings, freshman attackman Gerard Uzzolino, junior midfielder Tyler Godlesky, and senior attackman Trevor Cicco each scored once.

Senior attackman Ian McDow scored twice and senior attackman Jon Peal Pepe scored once for Howell.

 

Red Bank Catholic 12, Barnegat 3

Senior attackman Jackson Lu scored five goals, sophomore midfielder Frank Tackett scored four goals, and senior goalie Gianvito Viola made 14 saves to send the Caseys (6-6, 4-2) past the Bengals (3-7. 0-6).

Senior midfielder Brian Vecchio went 15-for-17 on face-offs, delivered two goals and one assist, and picked up 13 ground balls. Senior attackman Peter Villare scored once and senior defenseman Logan Graham picked up eight ground balls.

 

Manalapan 19, Jackson Memorial 6

Junior midfielder Matt Avivi scored a career-high six goals and added one assist for a career-best seven points and senior attackman Michael Bonner scored a career-high four goals plus two assists for a career-high six points as the Braves (7-1, 5-0) continued their match toward a division title by dispatching the Jaguars (5-5, 3-3) in an impressive road victory.

Manalapan led 4-0 after the first quarter and erupted for 10 goals in the second quarter to forge a 14-3 halftime lead. Junior midfielder Marc Stefanelli posted two goals and three assists and senior attackman Christian Zdziarski tallied three goals and one assist. Senior midfielder Anthony Macchio scored twice, junior attackman Jake Schatz had a goal and two assists, and freshman Eli Greenberg had a goal and an assist. Sophomore goalie Connor Doel (5 saves) and senior goalie Antonio Santana (4 saves) split time in goal.

 

Constitution Division

Freehold Township 5, Ocean 4

Senior attackman Nolan Thompson recorded a hat trick and junior goalie Junior Alvarado made 13 saves as the Patriots (5-5, 3-3) nipped the Spartans (6-5, 5-1) and handed them their first division loss.

Junior midfielder Ryan Rowolt and senior midfielder Connor Monro each scored once for Freehold Township.

Senior midfielder Ben Girard scored twice, sophomore attackmen Connor Holevinski had a goal and two assists, and Ryan Smyth had a goal and an assist for Ocean.

Ocean's loss means Middletown North (8-1, 6-0) takes over sole possession of first place in the division. Ocean and Middletown North will meet on Wednesday, May 1.

 

Freedom Division

Donovan Catholic 10, Brick Memorial 3

Junior midfielder Teague Hibbard scored five goals and freshman attackman Gavin Nascimento recorded two goals and three assists as the Griffins (6-2, 5-0) earned a division win over the Mustangs (4-7, 4-2) to keep pace atop the standings.

Donovan and Jackson Liberty are both undefeated in division play. The teams will meet on Friday, May 3.

Senior attackman Jack Farlekas hit for a hat trick, Jake Kerwin and junior midfielder Lucas Bova had two assists each, and senior midfielder Andrew Baltus went 14-for-17 at the face-off X. Sophomore goalie Jack Barone made 12 saves.

Sophomore attackmen Nick Correia and Noah Gambroney, and senior midfielder Jake Bicking each scored once and junior goalie Matt Hillin made 18 saves for Brick Memorial.

 

Nonconference

Holmdel 15, South Brunswick 5

Senior midfielder Will Gilfillan scored twice and dished out six assists and senior midfielder Gary Collyer delivered three goals and one assists to pace the Hornets (8-4) in their victory over the Vikings (3-6).

Junior attackman Brian Volpe also scored three goals, sophomore midfielder Jack Cannon had two goals and two assists, and sophomore attackman Finn Buchan and senior midfielder Greg Linsalata tallied two goals and one assist each. Senior LSM Matt Tempone added a goal and an assist and senior goalie Casey Dowd made five saves.

Holmdel led 5-0 after the first quarter and 13-1 at halftime.

 

Red Bank 15, East Brunswick 5

Brothers Andrew and Gabe Pape combined for nine goals and 15 points to lead the way for the Bucs (4-7) in their non-conference win over the Bears (3-7).

Andew, a senior midfielder, scored five goals and added three assists and Gabe, a sophomore attackman, delivered four goals and three assists. Freshman Justin Valentino added three goals and three assists and sophomore midfielder Ryan Deverin posted three goals and two assists. Senior goalie Kyle Borenius made eight saves and senior defenseman Matt Kelly picked up a team-high five ground balls.

 

Old Bridge 10, Middletown South 9 (2OT)

The Eagles (4-4) rallied with five goals in the fourth quarter to force overtime but the Knights (5-6) netted the game-winning goal in the second overtime period to pick up the win.

Senior attackman Logan Bailin led Middletown South with three goals and two assists and senior defenseman Owen Richter scored twice and picked up a team-high eight ground balls. Senior Jake Sawyer contributed a goal and three assists, sophomore Ben Acquaviva had a goal and an assist, sophomore Jackson O'Keefe and freshman Ryan Colacichi each scored once, and senior goalie Sean Burns made 11 saves.
