American Division

Rumson-Fair Haven 17, Red Bank 4

Senior midfielder Andy Croddick scored a career-high seven goals and sophomore attackman Luke Lydon recorded three goals and three assists as the juggernaut Bulldogs (9-0, 5-0) stormed past the Bucs (3-6, 0-5).

Rumson has now won 44 consecutive games versus Shore Conference opponents.

Six RFH players posted three or more points with senior attackman Alastair Orr and junior midfielder Grayson Goldin each with a goal and three assists. Senior midfielder Leo Passalaqua and sophomore Joseph Whitehouse had two goals and one assist each, and senior long pole Brody Page dished out three assists. Senior Matthew Casazza chipped in with one goal.

It was also a strong game for the Bulldogs' specialists with senior FOGO Luke Marascio going 13-for-15 on face-offs and freshman goalie Seamus Gorman making eight saves. Additionally, senior midfielder DJ Devine went 2-for-2 on face-offs and senior goalie Max McCarty made one save.

 

Holmdel 10, Southern 5

Senior midfielder Gary Collyer scored four goals and added one assist and senior midfielder Will Gilfillan scored twice and assisted on five more when the Hornets scored six times in the fourth quarter to upend the visiting Rams.

Holmdel (7-2, 2-2) trailed 3-1 at halftime before outscoring Southern (4-4, 0-4) 9-2 in the second half. Sophomore attackman Finn Buchan scored twice while sophomore midfielder Jack Cannon and senior LSM Matt Tempone each had a goal and an assist. Sophomore goalie Jack Tiller made five saves.

Senior midfielder Anthony Arch and junior attackman Liam Griffin each scored twice, and senior attackman Konnor Forlai had a career-high four assists to lead Southern. Freshman Kyle Sininsky had a goal and an assist, junior goalie AJ Mattern made 14 saves, and freshman goalie Nick Hughes made five saves.

 

Colonial Division

Point Boro 12, Middletown South 7

Junior attackman Brady Kirk delivered four goals and three assists and senior midfielder Robert Trapenese tallied two goals and three assists as the Panthers outscored the Eagles 8-1 in the second half to rally for an important divisional victory.

Middletown South led 3-1 after the first quarter and 6-4 at halftime before Point Boro (6-2, 2-2) scored five unanswered goals in the third quarter to forge a 9-6 lead heading to the fourth quarter. Senior Jake Saywer scored his third goal of the game while Middletown South was playing with the extra man early in the fourth quarter to pull the Eagles (3-3, 2-2) within two goals, but goals by senior midfielder Matt Woit, senior midfielder Gavin Reid, and Kirk in the final five minutes put the game away.

Woit finished with two goals and one assist while Reid and senior Logan Letts each scored twice. It was a penalty-filled 48 minutes with the teams combining for 14 flags. The Panthers were able to take advantage of nine Middletown South infractions to score six extra-man opportunity goals, including three in the third quarter. Senior goalie Colin Cole made 11 saves and senior LSM Dennis Glynn and senior defenseman Owen Deweysockie each picked up four ground balls to lead a strong defensive performance in the second half.

Sawyer led Middletown South with three goals and senior defenseman Owen Richter had a goal and 14 ground balls. Sophomore Luke Gaffney had a goal and an assist, freshman Ryan Colacichi and sophomore defenseman Matt Hrehowsik each scored once, and sophomore Jackson O'Keefe had two assists. Senior goalie Sean Burns made six saves.

 

Nondivisional

Manasquan 17, Red Bank Catholic 1

Senior midfielder Brody Muly scored six goals and junior attackman Brandon Kunz scored three goals and assisted on two more as the Warriors (7-0) overpowered the Caseys (5-5) to remain undefeated.

Junior Kelly Mulligan added two goals and two assists and freshman Mason Schlaefer scored twice for his first varsity goals. Junior attackman Ryan Aldi had a goal and an assist while senior midfielder Joe Carabetta, junior LSM Parker Harms, and junior Pat Frost each scored once.

Senior goalie Nick Bounassi got the start and win by making six saves while juniors Pat Loxley and Cooper Daly saw time in goal and made two saves each.

Sophomore midfielder Frank Tackett scored once and senior goalie Gianvito Viola made 15 saves for RBC.

 

Jackson Liberty 11, St. John Vianney 8

Senior attackman Paul Capozzi poured in six goals and two assists while sophomore Jeff White sank five goals to power the Lions (7-0) past the Lancers (3-6) to continue the best start in program history.

Senior goalie Matt LaBianca made 21 saves and senior Joe Accordino had three assists.

Capozzi leads the Shore Conference with 35 goals and 58 points.

Senior William Keegan scored a hat trick and sophomore midfielder Max Menkowitz won 20 of 22 face-offs and assisted on a goal for St. John Vianney. Senior Colin Bradley tallied a goal and two assists, junior Blake Hawthorn and senior Khush Mehta each had a goal and an assist, and junior Brendan Allen and freshman Ethan Hunter had one goal apiece. Sophomore goalie Luciano Formica made 10 saves.

 

Donovan Catholic 8, Jackson Memorial 6

Senior attackman Jack Farlekas scored three goals and added one assist and sophomore goalie Jack Barone turned aside 12 shots as the Griffins (4-2) outlasted the Jaguars (4-4) for a solid non-divisional victory.

The game was tied 4-4 at halftime and 6-6 entering the fourth quarter. Freshman attackman Gavin Nascimento and junior midfielder Teague Hibbard each struck for two goals and one assist and senior middie Andrew Baltus had a goal and an assist and went 13-for-17 at the face-off X. Jake Kerwin added two assists and sophomore defenseman Jayden Nascimento picked up a team-high five ground balls.

Senior midfielder Elias Craig notched a hat trick and senior goalie Russell Cender made 20 saves to lead Jackson. Senior attackman Drew Barocas scored twice and junior David Walter scored once.

 

St. Rose 14, Neptune 3

Senior Ben Meyer tallied four goals and two assists, freshman Eddie Kerr had two goals and two assists, and freshman Nick Pirone delivered a goal and three assists to lead the Purple Roses (2-5) past the Scarlet Fliers (1-6).

Senior Antonio Dalia added two goals and one assist, junior John Patterson and sophomore Daniel Gannon each scored twice, and freshman Cole Russoniello had a goal and an assist. Junior goalie Noah Arena made six saves and junior goalie Nick Garcia made one save.

 

Central 14, Long Branch 4

Senior midfielder Matt Golizio scored a career-high five goals and added one assist and was one of 10 Central players to record a point as the Golden Eagles (4-4) defeated the Green Wave (0-8) to match their win total from last season.

Senior attackman Grant Paczkowski, sophomore attackman Jake Agugliaro, and junior midfielder Liam Hurley each recorded two goals and two assists - for Hurley his first two varsity goals. Junior midfielder Colin Gall had a goal and two assists, and junior attackman Brian Vannote and junior midfielder Michael Hawkes had a goal and an assist each. Junior goalie Brady Etzkorn made nine saves.

 

Toms River South 5, Barnegat 4

 

Middletown North 12, Brick 1

 

Nonconference

CBA 9, Morris Knolls 2

Senior attackman Ryan Martin fired in four goals and assisted on another and the CBA defense turned in another lockdown performance led by junior poles Quinn Kelly and Luke Krebs to send the Colts (6-3) past the previously-undefeated Golden Eagles (7-1) in a matchup of state top 20 teams.

CBA entered the game ranked No. 18 and Morris Knolls No. 15 by NJ.com. Morris Knolls led 2-1 after the first quarter before a goal by Martin off an assist from junior midfielder Hunter Kilpatrick with 3:26 left in the second quarter tied the game 2-2 heading to halftime. CBA owned the second half with a 7-0 run to close the game. Martin scored twice, freshman attackman Turner Cook scored once, and junior attackman Carter McGuire scored off a setup from Martin during a four-goal third quarter that put CBA up 6-2.

Cooke scored twice while senior midfielder Cameron D'Alterio and junior midfielder Davis Campbell each had a goal and an assist. Freshman FOGO John Little went 11-for-15 at the face-off X and senior goalie Brandon Desena made two saves before giving way to junior Luke Phillips in the fourth quarter.

Morris Knolls senior goalie Nick Sciacca kept the Golden Eagles in the game by making 17 saves, including eight in the first quarter. Patrick Bershefski and Robert Brickner had one goal apiece for Knolls.

 

Shore 16, Allentown 8

Seniors Carson Spallone and Brady Cooke each registered four goals and one assist as the Blue Devils (5-2) scored 10 times in the first half to take down the Redbirds (4-4) in a non-conference game.

Junior Lukas Villa had three goals and two assists and junior midfielder Tucker Malfa had three goals and one assist. Junior Thomas Schroeder and sophomore Finn Watson each scored once and Reid Spallone sent out three assists. Senior goalie Noah Karaban made eight saves.
